Remember Panty Party? It was a Japanese game released on the Switch eShop earlier this year that was described as a fast-paced battle title where you play "as a panty" on the street searching for fights against "enemy" panties.
There's no adult imagery, and as stated on the official game page:
"All you get is funny and stupid panties!"
Now, publisher Cosen has revealed Panty Party will be receiving a free 'online & local communication support update' early on in spring next year.
According to Gematsu, this new content will add an online mode to the game with ranked battles and even dedicated rooms where players can play individually or participate in two on two battles. Local communication will also be supported.
Below is a trailer, showcasing this incoming update:

Just imagine this having better net code than Smash
Let's not get our panties in a bunch over this update...
"Comment down below." Great
I wanted to tell a joke about this but I just can't seem to get the crap out. :/
Finally, the news everyone has been waiting for!
Those things look like Aegislash from Pokemon.
That's a b*tchin' theme song!
I have the game so might check it out if I have the time when the update releases. Can't imagine its online mode being particularly active though.
I... actually am interested now that I know there’s no actual “adult” content. This looks hilarious. I don’t understand it but I’m gonna keep my eye on this.
Aw heck yeah, can't wait to play this one with the boys
Japan what is wrong with you?
R.I.P. Fortnite.
Man, this is really friggin' weird. Is it a good game at least? Panties aside.
@iLikeUrAttitude They're doing everything right.
@Santoria I mean if you wanted to play a game about panties battling it out lol, NintendoLife reviewed it if you want to know more about it.
So Japanese men's disturbing obsession with little girl's underwear is alive and well. And you'd think vending machines would be enough! Literally amazed Nintendo would allow this.
@mrmememan they wouldn't have to do a whole lot for this to be the case lmao
@Samwise7 you must be new to the switch eshop huh
@cryptologous Haha no I'm not, why? God what else is on there lol?
@Samwise7 I really doubt this game is meant to be taken seriously, so just calm down there
Killstreak and Airstrike incoming
It'll be really awkward asking for friend codes over this. "Hey! Wanna play Panty Party online?" 😳😬
Hmmm i think my backlog is to big to have time for this🤔🤔🤔
I wonder if NintendoLife would hate this game more if it had bras as well.
@Doofenshmirtz Having been at uni with a Japanese girl I can tell you that it's NOT funny, it's goddamn rank and this sort of game just makes the whole thing seem OK when in fact it's beyond sinister.
@Joeynator3000 I honestly don't know why they are giving it any airtime at all
@Samwise7 this game isn't meant to be taken seriously, just a goofy joke, and maybe if you actually seen footage of the game you'll find it's not so offensive. It's not even rated M, it's T, stop being so sensitive about a joke game
@Doofenshmirtz this pretty much goes for a lot of fanservice games. It bugs me that everyone immediately hates on these type of games, but blood and gore are perfectly fine. -.-
If I had a choice between this and, I dunno...Mortal Kombat 11...of course I'm gonna go for the panties game. lol
Can I play as a pair of Y-fronts? Or as a bra?
Japan, don’t go changing!
Some people getting their panties in a twist over this game.
@Doofenshmirtz Of course I get that it's joke game. I didn't see any men's underwear however. Nintendo didn't think it was harmless fun when they removed the 'stroking' feature from that game a few years ago. I get the point about blood and gore but that is extreme fantasy I suppose and this is just based on an actual rather seedy cultural issue.
@Wormold RIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACER!
@Joeynator3000 panty party and mortal kombat 11 crossover when
