A few days ago, QubicGames began a wonderfully generous Nintendo Switch giveaway which is currently letting players download ten whole games for free. It seems to have really grabbed the attention of Switch owners everywhere - our coverage of the sale has been generating an awful lot of interest, and the stats prove its success too (more on that soon).
If you've been keeping an eye on it, you'll have noticed that the final free game - set to become free on Christmas Eve - has been a secret. Until now.
Thanks to the huge interest and love shown by you, the Nintendo Life community, QubicGames has allowed us to exclusively reveal the final free game. So, which game can you expect to unwrap just before Christmas? It's Space Pioneer - the twin-stick run-and-gun title which only launched earlier this month.
QubicGames Nintendo Switch Giveaway - The Stats
QubicGames has also let us in on some stats about the giveaway which we thought you'd want to hear. It tells us that if game downloads continue to fly in as quickly as they have so far, the team expects to hit more than one million downloads in total by the end of the event. The top ten countries by number of downloads so far are as follows:
- USA
- Germany
- Spain
- France
- Netherlands
- UK
- Canada
- Mexico
- Taiwan
- China
Have you been keeping up with the sale? Let us know which free games you've been enjoying the most, or catch up on how to take part here.

Whoa, now that's a neat Christmas present - an indie game, for free pretty much at launch. Thanks QubicGames!
@Camo-joe Wait, those game can’t be download at china, how come it is even here?!
Awesome stuff. Shame Nintendo life haven’t reviewed it!!!!
Grabbed each one so far - already owned a couple and it’s been a lovely little promo In build up to Xmas
@Tantani Why not? I was able to use the German eShop in China. I wonder if the stats are based on the eShop or IP adress...
This even really put their name out there, with free publicity every day. (And it works, I now follow them on social media and know what kind of games they do)
I wouldn't be surprised if other publishers did the same thing during christmas 2020...
I already owned Robonauts, didn't bother with the other games because frankly it's all kind of rubbish. Spent money on Rayman, instead, on the cheap-cheap.
A bit of a slap in the face for anyone that actually bought the game at launch, but then maybe that wasn't that many anyway.
@Tantani They probably subsume Taiwan and Hongkong under China.
I've been keeping up with the free games since I bought Coffee Crisis for a buck about a month ago and free is impossible to resist. I've been trying them out here and there. I've also deleted most since I've only got 10 free gigs left on my 128gb SD card so space is a premium right now. I enjoyed One Strike more than I should. Good chiptune music, nice art style, and an addictive premise. Haven't tried out the last 3 games, but I will soon. Also tempted to buy their Duck Game. I do hope more companies try their approach in the future. Great way to get your name out there if you're a smaller publisher. (I'm in the US btw, yes we will take anything for free or severe discount even if we don't need it. Around here, you can take your broken furniture to the dump or put it on your front lawn with a sign that says "free to good home" and it'll be gone before noon.)
I've long since run out of room on my system's memory, but I've been keeping up with the promotion. My favorite, so far, has been Puzzle Book. Thank you for the daily reminders.
Can't go wrong with free stuff. Even if the games aren't your cup of tea, you may as well download them to maybe get a quick laugh out of it or something! That said, I think there's still some hidden goodies amongst these whatever the case, Space Pioneer included.
Thank you, Qubicgames! And Merry Christmas!
Didn’t this game start life as a F2P mobile game? I guess I’ll give it a go since it’s free, but keeping my expectations very low.
@Ratchet916 It did indeed, but it gained so much for removing micro transactions and having proper physical controls. I quite enjoy it!
I've grabbed everything thus far. Really happy that REKT was included. Some of these games seem pretty decent.
I quite enjoy Space Pioneer. It's a simple, fun, time waster. I highly recommend it for free, or for the fiver I paid for it.
Urggh disappointing Th e only reason i downlod all these rubbish flash games was assuming the last day would be one of their more premium titles.
Not a f2p mobile game thats been out for 8mo th on ios
I have been somewhat impressed with a handful of them so far. I actually have enjoyed Rekt, Robonauts and One Strike (which I had previously purchased).
@aznable lol ok what you said really made no sense at all.u already had 1 game so you wasted your money on rayman instead.lol this is what you said..all the games was free 1 everyday lol well I guess some people dont like free games lol
Why is everyone so goddamn negative? Why can't @aznable and @Mince be happy that you get at least $80 worth of games for free???
Also @Mince, you're not entitled to ANYTHING because they're giving it away, and Space Pioneer eventually removed all of their in app purchases so the game was full for free. Get over it dude!
I s2g Nintendo fanboys are rude as heck sometimes, and yes that includes me so don't even try attacking me.
@asaprowen96 maybe you should get over my opinion, they are worthless as far as I'm concerned. get over it!
Its a opinion not a entitlement learn to differentiate.
sorry if you dont have money for good games or whatever but do not shout me out calling me entitled because i find them worthless and voice my opinion toward the last offer.
I pay my way for everything in life and work very hard to afford all the best things, learn before you make dumb claims
@asaprowen96 $80 of rubbish is a lot of rubbish I don't want, whether it's free or not. Also- not negative, just opinionated like everyone else.
@darkyoshi98 I bought robonauts at a steep discount for the idea that I could play it with my son, and the gameplay sucks. Floaty, inaccurate and repetitive gameplay. Even at a discounted price it was a total waste of money, because I don't play it. Rayman is a fantastic game that everyone in my household enjoys whether for the gameplay, the music, or the visual spectacle. So, that money wasn't wasted, it was well-spent.
TLDR Even if garbage is free, I don't want it. Buying robonauts was a mistake- because it sucks.
$80 dont lake me laugh, more like £0.80p.
A price tag doesnt quantify worth you do realise?
@aznable good games are far more worth the investment than shovelware. Just picked up final fantasy 8 remastered will be a fantasy in comparison.
i missed yesterdays free game and now i can't get todays free game. is there any way that i can get yesterdays and todays free games without paying for them. i would like to get the rest of the games for free.
@Northwind except the Netherlands at 5, but we're known for never passing on a free/good deal xD
Wow! A game that's already free on mobile! Lovely! Qubic Games, you suck. REKT is kinda mediocre as well, not what I was hoping for. You just wanted to get your stupid shovelware onto the best selling list.
@Mince Finally someone is speaking sense. I was considering picking up ff8 too, but Ive not finished 7 nor 12 yet. Ff8 is my second favorite ff though, behind 12. No rush, it’s not going anywhere and I’m sure it’ll be on sale again. Have fun for me tho!
To late i knew what game it was before Nintendolife and already informed my huge Nintendo Base before you all did ..Merry Christmas
@Shiryu Fair enough, I'll try to keep an open mind. Usually the transition from F2P mobile doesn't work out so well (I'm looking at you, Gear.Club), so I've learned to temper my expectations accordingly.
Be real cool if my streak wasn't brought to a sudden hault because Koloro was downloaded under a different account on my Switch months ago. Don't get me wrong - I appreciate the free games I did get. Just feeling very petty. And honestly I blame Nintendo more than Qubic because it's an eShop problem if anything.
@aznable I understand that you have played one game and didn't like it but you can't write off all of their games. They are just a publisher so they are not all made by same people. There may be gem in there. I have downloaded all of the free games. I may never play them as I have a backlog a mile long but it's always worth having options.
Cool. I thought it was going to be that twin stick shooter w/ the ducks, I was actually going to buy this $10 game on sale for $5 to play w/ my son's. Thanks Qubic Games. (I know 1 of you must be in here reading this gawd awful comments section)
Cool, pretty excited to try it out. Enjoyed rekt thus far
@Enigk the games they publish look mediocre at the very best, and you can call it a sin of pride if you like, that i won’t collect them all for free like some kind of beggar.
How long will i have to deal with other people saying “boo hoo don’t poo all over this awesome thing they’re doing?”
Look, its not that awesome, i have differing feelings on things, Mario kart 8 isn’t the best racer on switch, and Walgreens shouldn’t sell cigarettes. God. Damn.
Thought I'd be getting a whole bunch of rubbish, but aside from Robonauts (all the rotating makes me nauseous) and Geki Yaba Runner, I've liked what I've gotten. So thank you for the free games!
All of it was worth it just for Mana Spark.
I played Robonauts for a bit, wasn't bad. Koloro had nice art, too and the scenery reminded me of Membrane. Rekt isn't bad so far, but a race mode wouldn't have gone amiss or some different style environments. Wreckin Ball Adventure was also not bad for a while, but will probably see if anyone will play 2 player with me before the next time I start it up.
Just about to download Mana Spark and Space Pioneer looks pretty good too. I already had Coffee Crisis for dirt cheap and only missed one which cost me less than £1 so not bad at all.
@neufel as consumers we can but hope!
The games very much are pick up and play. A wee bit of entertainment when you have 5 mins spare. I've enjoyed the give away but the real prize will always be the comments sections on here.
Enjoy your gaming folks.
Mana Spark is actually awesome. Puzzle Book is also fine if I just want to relax.
Some of them are kinda meh but I wouldn't consider any shovelware.
Some of the comments here are hilarious.
@stevenw45 Unfortunately there's no other way than paying for yesterday's game (by credit or by gold coins) to get today's game free. That was the catch of this promo - miss one out and the free offer is gone.
Along with the Epic Game give away (for PC) this has made my Christmas Advent countdown so much more fun. A huge thank you to Qubic Games. THANK YOU! I had to buy into the first couple to get going but it was worth it to get all these fab little games. So far I just can't put Wreckin' Ball Adventure down - looking forward to playing this with family over Christmas.
Happy Christmas Everyone!
Kind of weird to see so many negative comments on something that's optional and free. No matter what you think off the quality of the games, it's still a nice gesture and a great way to give some publicity to the developers.
@aznable no matter what you say free is free.sucks or not free is free
@MajinSoul thank you it's funny how people now adays complain about free things.its funny it really is.i downloaded them all so far
I got Race Die Run, and I like it. Single player futuristic racer. When you start jumping on track 5? it gets fun. I missed the boat for the free download, but $1.99 is still a great sale price. Note: it's about the challenge of getting through courses as they get harder and harder. But I played for about an hour, and I'll be back to it.
@Darkyoshi98 I’m not complaining about free things. I’m saying the game for which i paid money sucks, and I’m not giving this publisher the satisfaction of extra download numbers. Free is free doesn’t mean Free is good. The “personality test” Scientologists use to rope in the ignorant and unhappy is free.
@aznable
I'm sure they're making good sales on account of people missing a day or two alone, and wanting to keep the chain alive. I'd bought Mana Spark a few weeks back, had no intention to buy or play any of these games otherwise.
High visibility in the eshop, sites covering this event, and people buying missed games. All a smart sales tactic to see substandard games.
@aznable Some people don't have the luxury of limitless funds. Most people will have taken free food or drink that isn't that great merely because it is free. People have bought these games at full price so clearly some people believe they are worth more than free. Congratulations on being able to resist free things. I will always find some worth in something that is free. Unless of course that free thing is poop in a paper bag.
I already owned Mana spark but i think it's been a great little promotion. I've enjoyed most of the games to be honest but I have had the most fun with mana spark, wrecking ball adventure and race die run so far. Thanks Qubic games merry Christmas! 🎄🎁
@Enigk their price alone kind of shows if your used to playing high quality AAA games, you probs would he wasting time at the least with these, sure they may have a game or two that meet the exception but generally all their gamea look mobileish at best!
@Enigk why play mobile games on a AAA device.
Most of qubic games are mobile games from long ago or f2p adaptations
@aznable 12 was a disappointment for me and stopped playing after about 25hours. Honestly not as good as we remember i dont think
Im waiting for the 7remake no point playing both so close together so that leave 9 which ill play on ios toward the end of next year.
Cant wait to replay 8 after 20 years!!
@Mince what keeps me in with 12 are also the strong feelings i have regarding vagrant story, which is in the same timeline as ffxii. It makes quite a few nods to vs, if you look for them. But yeah, viii is a quirky blast
