Mario Kart Tour is coming to mobile devices later this month will definitely be different from the traditional Mario Kart games you've no doubt grown up with.
To set it further apart from the existing entries in the series, Nintendo has now revealed Peachette – who only recently made her debut in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – will be a playable racer. This announcement was made over on the official Mario Kart Tour Twitter account:
To top it off, she'll also come with her very own special item known as the Mushroom Cannon. It looks like a mushroom, is shaped like a mushroom and continually shoots mushrooms in front of your kart, which allows yourself or other racers to get a temporary boost. Here it is in action:
Does the inclusion of Peachette make you want to try out Mario Kart Tour when it arrives on Android and iOS devices later this month? Have you already pre-registered? Leave a comment below.

I love Peachette..... But don't like that item. Id rather have a golden mushroom in that case. But that's just me.
I mean, it's on-character, but... not exactly useful.
I haven't played any MK games since I discovered CTR and I don't have a phone, so this is one I'll skip.
Peachette makes no sense to me. Why does Toadette turn into Peach? I mean at least have given her a different face so it looks like cosplay or something.
As a man of culture, I'd have preferred Bowsette.
Bowser was featured a bit too prominently in her debut...
Hundreds of babies, Peachette, Bowsette, Mario as every metal under the sun, all non-characters. Why choose these when the Mario franchise has so many good characters already? Look at the latest Mario Tennis game for examples. Pauline or Birdo would have been a much better choice.
Why would you want to give mushies to other players? 🤔
Is there a team mode or something?
I be honest, im not into phone games, buts it Mario kart, so its got my interest. Would of preferred if landscaped camera.
I hate how they keep pushing this trash character. It's just Peach. Try to create something new Nintendo.
I better go and pre-register this free, digital game now. Can't get enough of those IAPs.
Anyone else feel like we're gonna get a host of clone characters in this game because gacha system?
Disgusting. A waste of a character slot.
Peachette feels kind of an uninteresting choice, but it makes sense for Nintendo to please the crazy fandom in a F2P game.
If this follows FE Heroes money making, next summer we are getting clones, but in swimsuit. On a male 1: 3 female ratio
...It makes more sense than Pink Gold Peach. Okay.
@USWITCH64 the "snowflake generation" doesn't exist, just changing cultural norms and taboos. I don't know why treating others with basic respect is seen as such a "pathetic" thing. what's really pathetic is "real man" culture.
Assuming Peach & Daisy are getting the Heart back and Toad & Toadette will likely get the Gold Mushroom, this should have fired the Poison Mushrooms that Peach and Toad threw in Super Mario Kart. If the cannon launched them further ahead so they were easier to avoid for the user, that would be a lot more useful than having opponents benefit from dropped Dash Mushrooms.
@Noid Nah, the generation certainly exists... But this probably isn't the place to discuss it.
Aside from the concept of the character itself, what is the purpose of having a power that just makes your opponents win?
@Alaninho Because you can get lots of characters into a gacha game by just recoloring them.
Also, I hope we get a canon Bowsette now, but I guess my hope will die in a fire.
@Sandro89 To be fair: This is a smartphone "Hero" game that needs a lot of characters - probably some that would never make it in a mainline console game.
Examples:
This is an interesting item if it is used properly. First you need to be around your oppnents, second be on a dangerous part of the track. Pop your cannon and aim at your opponents. Watch as they all fall off
Who on Earth is Peachette????
@Alaninho
Wart
Geno
Mallow
Mouser
Kamek
Kammy Koopa
Count Bleck
Frickin clone character. I’m tired of these clone characters. I know Peachette originated from a Mario game, but that doesn’t mean she’s a clone to Peach. Wasted character slot. I honestly hope they don’t put her in Mario Kart 9.
@Tempestryke I didn’t play Super Mario RPG but I’d be happy with any of the ones you suggested because at least they aren’t clone characters. The Mario & Luigi games had lots of good characters. E Gadd and Toadsworth would be great also.
That item would be devilishly disruptive if used in the right places.
Now we just need Pink Gold Peachette.
Diddy Kong basically has the same special item but with bananas and it is called the Banana Barrel.
@Alaninho
Wart and Mouser are from SMB2
Kamek is from SMW
Count Bleck from Super Paper Mario.
@Tempestryke I am aware of where they all come from, apologies if my reply was confusing.
But yeah, there are loads of better candidates than peachette, pink gold peach, babies etc. I wouldn’t mind the babies if they were costume changes for their characters, so we don’t have characters racing against baby versions of themselves.
At first, some people said (on Twitter) it could be bad for other racers on certain tracks, like Rainbow Road. However, there's auto-steering in the game, so they won't fall off the track, even if they get a mushroom from Peachette.
So yeah, Peachette has a very awful item imo.
@Noid There’s a line. But throwing a decade-long temper tantrum over a fast food chicken restaurant because its owner once expressed reservations about same-sex marriage, doxxing Taylor Swift’s father because of his politics, and bullying an actor into apologizing for saying that two year-olds should just be kids rather than trying to change their gender crosses it.
@Euler
How does being trans make a kid "not a kid"? while sex changes at a young age might be a bit of trouble later in life, changing gender should be completely acceptable. most doctors agree the only viable cure for gender dysphoria is transitioning.
are you seriously trying to excuse Chick-Fil-A's homophobia? the term "express reservations" is horribly neutral. it's not a temper tantrum, it's 100% justified.
I don't know enough about the Taylor Swift situation to give a response but I will say that doxxing is never OK.
@Noid "most doctors agree the only viable cure for gender dysphoria is transitioning."

Phobia means an unreasonable/extreme fear. Disagreeing with something is not the same as fearing it, unless you're saying you have Eulerphobia because you don't agree with @Euler
@Kalmaro the modern day definition of "phobia" is "an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something." - what does aversion mean? a strong dislike. plus homophobia is a fear, it's a fear of the unknown.
@Noid that is a gross oversimplification of the term. Going off your definition, I have a phobia of broussel sprouts and waking up early on Monday to go to work.
Homophobia is not a fear of the unknown. It has never been synonymous with just being afraid of something you don't know. Otherwise, all kids who are afraid of the dark because they don't know what's there are Homophobic.
@Kalmaro why don't you Google "phobia definition" and see for yourself?
also, I wasn't literally saying all fear of the unknown is homophobia, I was saying that homophobia is a form of fear of the unknown.
@Noid I looked up the definition, then I pointed out how off that definition was by showing how it could apply to not wanting to go to work early in the morning.
It's easy to kinda find a certain definition that will fit what you want but I think we both know that a phobia is more accurately described by an extreme or irrational fear of something. Not just a strong dislike.
Homophobia being a form of the fear of the unknown is way to vague to be accurate. You could apply that to almost anything.
The headline of this article can easily be taken out of context.
I apologize in advance, but seriously, I'm always surprised by some comments and complaints here:
-Don't like the Peachette character for being a "clone" of Peach.
-Don't like Mario Kart Tour especially for being a mobile game (and gatcha game).
-Complain because the Peachette character is included in this Mario Kart Tour game.
Is it serious? Well, it really doesn't surprise me in the end ...
The items sounds interesting, I can’t wait to try it out 😁
@Jacob1092 unfortunately for you, bowsette was never an official character... just a meme
@MagnaRoader or better say why turn peach into todette? that's would be a better question. They can't think any other hairstyle I guess. It just doesn't suit on peach. New hairstyle please. Even a pony would be better
@Alucard83 the heck are you talking about? Peach does not turn into Toadette. What Mario games have you been playing?
@SakuraHaruka I am confused as to why these things surprise you, are you suggesting you can’t fathom that people would have legitimate reasons for thinking those things?
@Alaninho
Do you think that I cannot understand people "the right" to express what they feel?
Dear, I have years, years that I understand that people have "the right" to say what they want, so "I am not surprised" of what they say, moreover, I have seen more "amazing" things from people on the internet .
However, what many do not understand, and that is what surprises me (but at the same time not) is the fact that they understand what "freedom" means, to say what they want, that is, we can always express something and when we don't get to "certain" point, but I don't want to extend this more than i will explain;
I put it in this idea:
This topic is about a character (Peachette) that seems not to please everyone, ok, they have said it before and some say it again; it is also about a game which they do not like (Mario Kart Tour), especially because of the platform in the game and the way it is played (I even think of the point that I also do not like about the game); however, even though they show no interest in these things, they still comment as if it bothers them, they even feel bad, as if in the end they had an interest in this, which makes me "illogical"; as we say here: "even what they don't eat hurts them".
I explain it in other "idea": we have a "someone who dislike" Nintendo, who has his reasons that may be correct; He arrives at this website and in many notes that talks about Nintendo's plans he gives quite strong, negative opinions, but which also show a lack of interest in Nintendo; this would bother many people and for many, he makes a fool of himself or is marked as a troll, isn't it? However, under the term "freedom" of expression, he is not a troll and this is valid, why not insulting anyone, is on a website that does not discriminate against anyone and allows "that freedom"; So, as you asked me at the beginning, we should understand that, right?
It is true that then, that commenting on something, having that freedom is not only not saying rudeness, right?, Is knowing how to comment and that the rest understands the point without creating a conflict.
For finish, ""I emphasize"" that I (and all of us really) cannot force anyone to comment as I want, however all this comment is simply to give the idea of why it is good to comment "respectfully", but, ahead, we have "freedom" to comment.
So peachette is a thing now?
I find it a little eerie.
Well this is a fresh weapon.
Still waiting on Mario Kart 9...
@Alpha008 Don't remind me 🙄
@Noid If Chick-Fil-A had a record of mistreating or discriminating against LGBT customers or employees, protesting it would be fully justified. When people are laying down on the sidewalks in 2019 because the CEO said marriage should be between a man and a woman back before the Wii U was even released, that's a tantrum and a distraction from actual oppression faced by minority sexual orientations.
The vast majority of young children that think they're the opposite gender ultimately don't end up having gender dysphoria (the same way most kids that think they're reptiles don't end up getting their tongues forked and scales added to their skin).
