Wow. A week when I really want nothing for the Switch. If not, for Kirby on 3DS, then Ninty will get nothing from me this week.
I enjoy Gunsmoke (not most other westerns, Gunsmoke was so much better) and love love love XCOM, so Hard West was a definite preorder for me. Paid $6 grand total for it.
Is it weird I’m actually just stoked there’s less than two dozen releases this time around?
This is the 3DS week.
Had Kirby preordered but with Yoshi coming out.. I mean.... kinda similar game yknow?
I’ll get Kirby eventually for sure though! The demo is great.
I loved Epic Yarn on the wii. Beautiful soundtrack, charming graphics, is the epitome of relaxing (except the train levels with the pointer.) Trying to get all the gems on all the levels was fun, and it was a great 2 player game with a sibling.
I'm skeptical about it on the 3DS though, because I just praised it for its multiplayer, graphics, and soundtrack, and now it's on a small screen with 3DS speakers and no easy multiplayer. It surely won't be a waste of money with such a good core game, but I'm guessing this version will be worse than the wii version.
I meant to vote for Hard West! That game looks awesome. Downloading as soon as I can.
I want the The Caligula Effect: Overdose - but with DMC5 not really going to play it much outside my 2hr commute. So will go on my back list.
Caligula seemed interesting, but not worth just jumping head first for 50 bucks. Maybe if I see it on sale in the future I might check it out.
Extra Epic Yarn is one of those games I can see myself getting at some point for the convenience of having on the go, but it’s just not inspired enough to run out and buy on day one. It’s unfortunate, because any steam the 3DS might’ve had left due to the uniqueness of the system has been completely ignored by the last gasp of first-party titles.
Well nothing for me this week, guess I'll just finish up story mode in Central Fiction until Mortal Kombat 11 hits.
Good to see a healthy percentage supporting Baba. Such an interesting concept deserves a look.
Nothing for me but I do recommend Assault Android Cactus, very fun game!
Nothing. I'm gonna look towards sales and updates for games I have.
Hard West, Assault Android+, and maybe Valley. Great week for indies.
nothing for me this week. i'll be playing GTA 3, The Sims: Busting Out and Super Paper Mario. (hopefully i can beat it. i've been meaning to. and i never could.)
"Something's amiss in the seemingly perfect world of Mobius."
Guess we all forgot about this new Sonic game
now that Assault Android Cactus and Downwell are on Switch, I can safely kick my laptop down a flight of stairs! …Well, there is still the matter of Roundabout. Also, um, all the work I need to get done. 🤔
V rally 4, did they update the game and improve it since its European release?
Think I'll try Braveland Trilogy. I've yet to meet a turn-based RPG I didn't like.
Yawns. Still nothing until Fire Emblem for me, aside from the Final Fantasy ports
Ghoulboy looks pretty good. I didn't pick it up yet though. I'll wait for more info or a price drop
I’m interested in Baba. I’ll have to wait on a review before I decide how soon to get it, though.
I've preordered Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. I hope it arrives tomorrow!
Could this be the last retail release from Nintendo on 3DS?
Would have gotten Kirby in a heartbeat on Switch.
Three weeks to Yoshi.
I will download Netflix..... oohh wait is not on the list
I'll just focus on my backlog instead
@RetroOutcast No, I picked up on that too, as soon as I read the description.
Might get Assault Android Cactus eventually but I just picked up Stick of Truth and World of Final Fantasy Maxima in the recent sales so I'm good for now
@Fake-E-Lee I’m looking forward to Assault Android Cactus+ as well (as we’ve discussed). Maybe Hard West also.
OT: this week, I learned that the developers of NeuroVoider are co-developing a game called ScourgeBringer. Not out yet, but it has a Steam page and a Youtube video. I believe it is coming to consoles, but they haven’t yet said which ones. It has completely different mechanics than NeuroVoider, but looks appealing to me: a 2D side-on platformers with very rapid combat. Pacing and aesthetics reminiscent of Hyper Light Drifter, IMO.
Not a biggie but I still don’t understand how you guys fell one week behind on Hamster and haven’t caught it since
@joey302 apparently the press release itself has been faulty for over a year now, so NL keeps copying it over 1:1
@Megal0maniac well FYI for you my friend and everyone else, todays Hamster game is Ikari Warriors 👍
@ARPK Not weird. There's been a lot of low-effort garbage flooding the shop this year. Like, as compared to previous years, it's mostly been either garbage, shovel ware or "adequate but seen it before" games.
@thesilverbrick Would bet money they have something in the months leading up to fall/winter holiday season. Then I think that's it (unless they publish a port for someone like how they did MM6 at the end of the NES lifespan).
@Dang69 You’re probably right. They’ve probably got one last $40 low-effort port for the holidays in an attempt to squeeze one final Christmas out of the 3DS.
@bluesdance Tempted to double dip on Cactus myself. Despite Steam's support for the pro controller I'm curious if the Switch's online leaderboards are shared with the PC's or if it has its own seperate one.
Baba is You
Lava is Kill
Game is Nice
Seriously though, Just take a look you 'nothing for me' folks. It won best game design and best student game on last years' IGF (aka the only award show that matters) ( http://www.igf.com/2018 )
There's a short free game jam version also ( https://hempuli.itch.io/baba-is-you )
Glad to see fewer eshop releases. Maybe Nintendo is clamping down on crap?
@thesilverbrick Was always surprised they never downported the WiiU Windwaker HD.
@Dang69 That would’ve required quite a bit of technical magic.
@Riderkicker i donno you can find me in 687th place or so. Elite gamer squad
@bluesdance Unless you were pushed down the list after posting, I don't see you anywhere near 687. At least not on the first stage. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/992387199673978405/EB7E1C2973C7F2FB0DFF11FCC6DE10D5B9415818/
