Imagine a scenario where you boot up Super Mario Bros. for the first time and Peach has already been saved, every coin has been collected and every single goomba has been stomped on. What would you do? Spoiler Alert, arriving on the Switch eShop on 1st February for $4.99, is a Megafuzz developed and published game that explores this scenario.
Your job is to undo all that hard work as you unravel every level from last to first. You must put coins back in the place you found them, revive enemies and avoid nasty time paradoxes by carefully putting every item, projectile and enemy back in the right place. This is both a parody and a love letter of sorts to classics like Super Mario.
Here are some of the many features in the game, courtesy of the PR:
- Classic platformer gameplay in a unique new way never before seen
- 4 unique and diverse worlds
- Speedrunner mode
- Simple one-button gameplay that is easy to learn, but difficult to
master
- Boss fights, upgrades and many different and unique enemies

Definitely picking this up when it drops.
Love the concept, but it looks very generic.
Someone really, really, REALLY liked Braid.
wow, that aesthetic reminds me of newgrounds.
and that is absolutely not a compliment.
You guys know that this is from 2014, right? It’s nothing new, although that’s not inherently bad.
The concept had me interested but then i saw the gameplay. Thanks but no thanks
You had me until you said “one button gameplay”... ugh... the Switch is not an iPhone
Interesting concept
I was sold until I read “one button control”
The premise however... wow that’s so cool just not so sure it’s for me. It’s screaming cell phone game into my face.
@stevep I see you and I have the same connotation!
Played this on iOS ages ago. It’s fun and clever, but I wound up beating it (100%) in just 2 or 3 hours. There is also a hardcore mode for speed runners that I didn’t touch, but it felt like a good $0.99 (or maybe $1.99 if not on sale) purchase for the brevity. Unless they added more content (and this article makes it sound like they didn’t), then I’d definitely wait for a sale on this one.
Reminds me of an episode from Red Dwarf, Backwards
The artist on this is a longtime friend of mine, who also created several insane card games.
This game started as a game jam project, and everyone loved it! The full game isn't all that long, but if you like platformers, it's a fun diversion, with a couple of good mindbenders.
And it's certainly the kind of novelty game that you can use to go "have you played this?" to family members.
I love the concept, but I HAAAATE the cheap art style!
Looks like an awful mobile game.
fun idea, reminds me of Retro/Grade, that uses the same backwards idea
Nah, I'd rather look at Mario gameplay videos backwards
What @YANDMAN said, but also the speed suggests it's like just rewinding a game. Otherwise it would be really interesting.
Sounds like this is a "wait for a sale" game.

I think I’ll just dust off wario land: shake it instead.
I think my browser opened a 2004 window...
Seems like an interesting concept.
It's like Braid, but reworked into a simpler point A-to-point B platformer.
I'd love to give it a try, if anything for the novelty of it all, but I can't bring myself to like the art style, as best described by @CharlieSmile and agreed upon by most other users. I'm with y'all on this, it's definitely sale material despite the ingenious idea behind it.
This looks like a flash game, and not a good one.
They spent five minutes making this one, didn't they?
Great Concept.
Time for them to delay and get a new graphic artist to redo the entire thing in pixel art, which seems more appropriate.
The music is pretty bland too - I get it, it's a red chili pepper and the music has accordians etc.
However, is a red chili pepper as the hero a good idea? What aspects of the game are necessary for a chili to be involved in? Wearing a dinosaur hat?
Game does not look like the product of any sort of focused effort.
Artsyle reminds me a bit of the original Ittle dew. Looks interesting, could be fun.
@Dudrap1 I think that's a cool concept. It sounds more interesting than just a sub world with extra content, or a world where you have to collect all the special coins to play the levels. maybe Bowser Jr could get Kamek to use some magic and change up the stages to be different or more challenging. I also think it would be interesting to see a final boss version of level 1-1.
