Team17 has revealed that Overcooked 2 is about to receive something new. Forgive us for being so vague with that description, but as you can see from the new trailer above, not much has been given away.
The video shows Kevin the dog frozen in an iceberg, as well as a couple of chefs frantically running along the screen, in a brand new, frozen setting. We'd venture a guess that this means a new batch of winter-themed levels is on the way via a DLC package, just like the previous selection of sunny summer levels that arrived in the Surf 'n' Turf bundle.
Team17 has also provided us with the tiniest PR description to ever exist, confirming that the content will definitely be available for free. Those cheeky teases!
"Something new is coming to Overcooked! 2. It's fun, it's festive and it's free!"
What do you expect the update will be? Would you like to see more levels be added to Overcooked 2? Let us know in the comments.

I still need to get this game. I don't have the first one either. This one looks better than Overcook.
@0muros In my own personal experience, the original Overcooked is more challenging than 2, but 2 has very unique level design, more chefs and more food variety.
@Matthew010 I just bought this and I'm waiting to play it over the holiday break. I thought they addressed the easy problem by introducing the 4th star or is that easy as well? I prefer a challenge but regardless, my wife and I loved the first one, so I'm sure we'll have a blast playing this one. The fun might just be short lived if the 4th star is still easy...
@TsukiDeity I haven't tried the 4 star mode. It sounds harder though.
@Matthew010 It IS.
Great little game
I liked the first one better. The first one story was already quit "low", but the second one tops that. The story is ridiculous...
@Matthew010 I agree that the first one was more challenging. And just by adding a 4th star it is not getting better. It's the same levels with more points needed. Especially the end boss fight was so much more challenging in OC1. Took us probably 10-15 tries to make it, in OC2 we got 3 stars on first attempt.
@Matthew010 Thanks for your advise.
@0muros Alternative take: I like them both, but the original Overcooked was a mess with difficulty curve and progression and less polished overall (making it easier to lose regular co-op players to frustration). Overcooked 2 is a much better progression and my wife and I have had more fun and less frustration with it. I can’t muster up any desire to go back to the original which, for us, at least, is a good game, but worse than the very similar sequel in every way.
@aaronsullivan Thanks for your input. Overcook 2 will definitely be a better choice for me and my wife.
As a longtime Worms fan, it does my heart good to see how much Team17 has grown over the years.
