Following the McLaren DLC added to the game last week, Psyonix has now released its second Rocket League rocket pass, available for free. The premium upgrade in exchange for 10 keys is $9.99 (or the regional equivalent) and includes even more content than the first pass as well as the brand new Artemis Battle-Car. Take a look at the trailer above.
In its announcement post, Psyonix said it had listened to fan feedback and increased the items found in the premium track. Here's more information about how the premium path unlocks work:
Items in the Premium Upgrade path are no longer tradeable for Tiers 1 thru 70, but 'Pro Tier' items (i.e. Tier 71 and above) and Free items CAN still be traded. We have also changed Pro Tier behavior so that they will ALWAYS drop as a 'Painted' item, while still carrying a 25% chance to drop as a 'Certified' item. Moreover, we've increased the base experience you earn from matches by 40% so that you can reach Pro Tiers faster and increased the weekly match maximum from 14 to 21.
The fine-tuning doesn't end there, either:
We’re introducing a brand new Customization Item attribute to various Pro Tier items. The 'Special Edition' attribute reworks an item into an alternate version of itself that still supports Painted attribute colors. Several of the Pro Tier Wheels in Rocket Pass 2 -- ‘Gripstride HX,’ ‘Rocket Forge II’ and ‘Sprocket’ -- support the Special Edition attribute; any time you unlock one from a Pro Tier, you'll have a 25% chance to receive the Special Edition version. You can see an awesome example of a Special Edition item in the screenshot below.
Will you be starting your engine on-field to check out the new rocket pass? Tell us below.

Maybe I’m old or maybe it’s the terrible menus with too much going on all over the screen but I still don’t know how that whole part of the game even works. Unlocking things, keys and boxes, etc. I’m sure it’s all pretty standard stuff now a days but I’m way behind the times and I really don’t have the attention span to sit and customize my car over and over.
That being said I’m glad it all seems to be cosmetics cause the game itself is a ton of fun and right up my alley for a few rounds when I occasionally get the urge to actually PLAY video games instead of read about them on my phone.
@eSocrates love your comment! I’m exactly the same. I am addicted to Rocket League by I couldn’t give two hoots about unlocking stuff. Bought it for a tenner and put in hundreds of hours without spending a penny. It’s my go to “I’ll just have a quick game” game. 3 hours later off I crawl to bed.
I hate that they added season passes to this game. They used to give you a free item after every match, but now they’ve locked that away behind a paywall. And it’s entirely ridiculous and unfair, seeing as the game is not free and had to be purchased to begin with. It’s one thing to have a paid season pass for a free-to-play game like Fortnite, but this is just an unethical cash grab that made me never want to play again.
After these changes sometimes I don`t even get an item when I level up. They used to give keys in events as well, now not anymore.
All that aside, I have 3 unlocked cars, many very rare items without spending a dime. It is a great, fun game.

From what I can tell everything is the same with free additional stuff. You still earn free things, it used to be random, now it's after playing a few games.
The season pass is just an alternative to paying for Keys to unlock things, but now You can unlock a lot more for the price of a few keys and earn keys as well.
When they hold a special event like the halloween event, they took away the ability to earn a decryptor but instead just allowed you to unlock the special crate without one.
Luckily the unlockables are just cosmetic and the game is great fun with or without them
Is there any way to play this game on android or windows? I don't have any Nintendo so I am still upset.
@emuzonebd Android-NO, Windows-YES! You can get it on Steam on PC. I own it on Xbox, Steam, and Switch. I only play on Switch now.
@PeterPanana Does it slow down windows? Because I use windows 10 and I have 2gb ram. I am overthinking.
@emuzonebd It doesn't slow down Windows, but I know 2 GB RAM is too low to run the game on Windows. Recommended at least 8 GB RAM, plus a decent processor.
