We rather liked the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle when it launched recently, and our only real complaint was that Capcom had been rather lazy when it came to screen options.
The company obviously took note of play feedback on this matter, as it quickly announced that an update was in the works which would address this issues - and more!
The good news is that the update is now available, and comes with the following fixes:
New Screen Filters – Transport yourself back to the arcades with new scanline/arcade filter options.
New Screen Size – In addition to the full screen size, there is now the option to display the screen in its original size to fit more types of screens.
ON/OFF Toggle for Mid-session Joining – When creating a lobby, there is now an option to turn off the ability for other players to join your in-game session.

Capcom, lazy? Never!
They sound like solid improvements that should have been there day one. Any chance of a physical uk release?
Good now how bout an official physical NA release so I don't have to import the Asian version from Nin-Nin Games.
No parents will buy this for their kids after watching this trailer.
As soon as this goes on discount I’ll be getting it, if they fixed the online issues I’d pay full price.
Good they should have been in at the beginning but fixed now how about Capcom fix street fighter anniversary collection sound issues it drives me insane
@JoeDiddley If you adjust the frame delay in the options, it can be tweaked anywhere from "really good connection" to "I'm trying to play this on mobile data"
I have a somewhat inconsistent upstream issue and it was fine on a delay 2 or 1 setting; almost no rollbacks in general with two players. Three's a bit harder but still workable.
Imagine being a kid in the 90s that was kidnnaped by a time traveling cosplayer and forced to have to deal with the kids of the current era without the adjustment period the rest of us 90s kids got.
"In addition to the full screen size, there is now the option to display the screen in its original size to fit more types of screens."
I don't understand this, or at least the wording. How many types of screens will Switch owners use? The one in the Switch itself and a regular LCD/LED TV, right?
I'm looking forward to early January, when a friend of mine will bring me the Japanese retail edition from there, where he lives part of the year.
Does the online work bad too with this collection, as in USFII and 30th Anniversary?
About the ad: they all have pro controllers in their hands. Joy-cons or multiple consoles ruled out. Funny. One question: I wasn't an arcade goer back in the day, and I would have liked it, but would people have preferred to be able to play those games at home? Or being in the arcades was part of the experience?
Now patch Street Fighter Anniversary to turn the volume up to something that not only dogs can hear!
wanted this physical but might just get digital.
Is there smoothing options?
"ON/OFF Toggle for Mid-session Joining – When creating a lobby, there is now an option to turn off the ability for other players to join your in-game session"
Okay, I guess I can buy this now. Only feature I needed...except I would've preferred that be the default.
Such a terrific collection, glad they updated it!
@Retupmocnin I'm a parent and born in 1980 and that trailer gave me nightmares, arcade halls, rent vhs movies .. 80's is the best decade ever existed and I'm glad I was not one those boys ..
Was waiting for this to go back and finish Battle Circuit with the remaining characters.
Well, this is one example where being able to patch games can be a good thing.
What's the Internet?
I've played through 3 of the 7 games and have had a blast
These weren't in there day one because that's the new way to release games now. As long as it's good enough to get out to market, get it out there, and we'll patch it later. It's an unfortunate philosophy but a sign of the times.
So is it still unplayable online or is the lag fixed?
@moroboshi876 that's a good question. Being in the arcade was certainly part of the experience, one that i am sad has died out nowadays - but the dream was always to be able to play these types of games at home only technology wasn't up to it until about the SNES / Megadrive era. once that became possible it triggered the death of the arcade as we knew it. 😭
The online for the game still a mess?
If I'm being honest, I don't care much about online.
@Moroboshi876
I think it depends on who's you're asking the question to. I've been lucky to live my teen and early adult years when arcades were still pretty much a thing, and despite the advent of consoles that were able to reproduce these games more faithfully, going to the arcades was still a thing for me and my friends. Playing the same games at home was cool and interesting, but it lacked the atmosphere of the arcade, which, I guess, was part of the experience. Maybe it's something the younger generations of today wouldn't really understand. I don't know.
We really started to see a decline in popularity by the time the PS1 era came in full force though. But people were still going. Many machines still had big screens, and sometimes cool multiplayer setups, especially for racing games. I remember one huge tank game from Namco (I think), that had a 3 or 4 player setup in the arcade I usually went to. It was a blast. Also, motocycle games where you had to mount a bike to play... Some arcades still exist in the likes of amusement parks, although nowadays, they mostly focus on experiences that go beyond the simple joystick. Think DDR type dance games, gun games, sit-down racing cabinets and things like that. Classic stand-up arcade games are practically gone nowadays. At least in NA.
Although I know that in Montréal, in Canada, there seems to be a couple of bars that openned around the idea of reproducing (more or less) the atmosphere of those glory days.
@Realnoize I was born in 1982, and although I could have gone I think even as a child didn't like the idea of spending my allowance in arcade games. I preferred to save in order to buy new games for my consoles. And it was later, when the retro nostalgia got all of us, that I wished I would have gone more than a couple of times.
Anyway what you people say makes me right in thinking that the appeal of arcade centers wasn't replaceable by playing home, just like having many arcade games emulated on current systems isn't the same as the feelings of going to the actual place.
When I really started to get interested in arcades they were sadly long gone. I have to wait until video game events take place, but usually to see it's almost all modern cabinets with emulators inside. Real cabinets is something I rarely find and touch. And you're right, when you find some, they're modern things, but you won't find for instance a Final Fight cabinet.
And I understand it: bars and restaurants can't benefit from old machines that nobody plays anymore, so they replaced them by slot machines.
The only way is game events or private clubs that preserve and restore arcade machines. They exist, but you usually have to pay a fee and if adult life responsibilities don't let you go there regularly you won't get your money's worth. That's my case.
So I love arcade games, but I won't live the real experience, emulation works but doesn't feel the same. That's my "tragedy" as a gamer. I have a nostalgia for something that didn't actually experience. More importantly: if I ever discovered a preserved retro arcade center I could go there and play, but the time would be wrong, and free play wouldn't be the same, and if I had to pay I would think twice. I admit that I got spoiled after all this time trying to get the best prices on video games.
Neato! I love playing a good beat-em-up with my best friend, so this will make the purchase more worth it for me when I decide to jump in. Adding in my 8bitDo arcade stick will really sell the experience
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS power to the people.
Voice chat? ..........oh maybe they never heard me!
@Moroboshi876 for me it was all about the games; if I could have played them at home I always would have. I wasn't a fan of spending my meagre allowance on 1-2 minutes of gratification too often. That said, my local arcade would sometimes have "lock-in" sessions where they set all the machines to free and you paid to be locked in for a few hours. That was pretty sweet. Although if memory serves, everyone kind of just lined up for Street Fighter so it got a little silly...
Hope Capcom fixes those problems & bring more old arcade games over to the Nintendo switch soon.
Okay then. I thought it was just fine the way it was but I won't say no to an update that adds more features.
Dear Capcom,
Please release a port of Disney Afternoon Collection.
Respectfully,
