Adding to the Pokémon GO Community Day celebrations taking place this weekend, Niantic has revealed that a whole bunch of returning Legendary Pokémon will be obtainable once again throughout December.
If you feel like braving the cold and keeping on top of your Field Research tasks, you'll be able to earn the chance to catch Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, or Suicune - perfect if you missed any of these when they first appeared in months gone by.
An encounter will appear with one of the six Legendary Pokémon mentioned every time you reach a Research Breakthrough (achieved by completing seven Field Research tasks and claiming their stamp rewards on different days). If you manage to earn a stamp in every day of December, you should be able to trigger four Legendary encounters in total.

I just wish they’d beef legendary Pokemon a bit, or lift the gym ban. It was fine with the old system, but if a limit of 1 legendary per gym was set it would make them more than a collectible.

I only want my two favorites! Articuno and Raikou.
This is frustrating because of the 6, I only need Moltres and I only get 4 chances and I might get the same creatures over and over again or I might just get 4 individual 'mons but not the one I don't have.
Well, I need Articuno and Zapdos but given my luck with the egg regional event, where I got Mr. Mime 5 times, I don’t have any faith in my luck.
Well, I need all three birds, so I should get at least one I want this month. There's enough time to get 5 shots, since I'm holding off to do my last breakthrough for the first.
@marandahir I'm a big fan of cashing in research on the 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd. If you're on that same cycle, you can get a fifth try on the 29th rather than waiting for the 1st of January to roll around.

Unfortunately I screwed myself for cashing in research on that cycle. I'm only 3 days into my research week as of today. Ugh.
Good for people who need to catch up. But my family members who play, and caught all of them so far, groaned a bit. They were ok with the Shedinja filler month, but they really want a crack at the Regis. Lol
