Great news for speed demons! Rising Star Games, in partnership with UK-based independent game developer Supergonk, are bringing the co-op arcade racer Trailblazers to the Switch eShop on 15th November after a short delay.
The game features an innovative on-track game mechanic. Racing in teams of up to three-versus-three, players are able to paint the track Splatoon-style as they race, capturing key areas to alter the all-important racing line. Six-player online is also included.
That's not all! The Switch version will also feature an exclusive character: the overbearing space frog father of Boo – Boo’s Dad! (no, not that Boo!)
It all sounds quite promising. Check out the trailer above and let us know if you plan to pick this up later in the month with a comment below.

Squid vs Octoling team racing really needs to be a mini-game in Splatoon 3. Kids get all the attention, squids need some love.
Looks interesting. I hope the tracks are diverse.
Mechanic looks interesting... I wonder if the racing is good?
Mario Kart 9 needs to have a Splatoon-style Battle Mode.
Only 10 race tracks? What is this the nineties?
Sounds like a cross between Fast RMX and Splatoon. Seems to have got fairly lukewarm reviews on other platforms, although Hardcore Gamer liked it and their closing line sounds promising: "If you like F-Zero and/or Splatoon, you will find a lot to like here."
Saw this at $26 on Steam. Later saw the 63 Metacritic. Moving on.
And still waiting for RedOut 😫
I quite like the concept, but I require a bit more convincing on the execution... the characters and vehicles are a bit meh too.
@rjejr You could set up a cleverly laid out track with streaks of both colors and just using single player mechanics and elements and set two people to race on it (with a no splatting each other rule). That would be a fun mode with just that. Add additional features and it could really be pretty great. You are definitely on to something.
This was supposed to come out last spring then things got silent and now it’s coming out now hopefully that’s not a bad sign.
@Agramonte One word, my fellow RedOut mourner: GRIP
@aaronsullivan "You are definitely on to something."
Well they owe me b/c I'm still waiting on my Tic-tac-toe, hangman and battleship collection w/ video chat on Wii U.
And we're both still waiting on our "amiibo Snap!" game. I mena I know people were happy when they took away wara wara plaza moving from Wii U to Switch but does the Switch need to be this empty adn devoid of feeling? They might as well give the Switch HALs voice. "Sorry Dave, you can't have any themes or eShop music today, that would be too much fun."
Seriously though, they took away trophies in SSBU. How about give us a trophy like table for our amiibo we buy to play with, sorry I mean next to, in the game. Splatoon had that glass cube in the hub, but that's about all I can think of. Oh adn SMM had those 8-bit skins. Still need an amiibo trophy shelf/world/kingdom/display case though. They owe us.
Its going on my wish list curious too see how this is going to turn out
@rjejr And Nintendo isn't bleeding money anymore.
I'm okay with it not being tied to Smash, but now that they are all-in on getting gamers to collect Smash amiibo (with new customers who might have never considered amiibo before), there really needs to be some secondary benefits to these things.
A trophy room of some kind would be cool. The wara wara kind of trophy room, like the park in Pokemon Let's Go would also be fine. Even Mario Party 10 let you pose and set up pictures. It's like they are dancing all around it!
Plenty of potential to make a full-on adventure in each other's worlds game with amiibo, or, even deeper, small games that would be unlocked by combinations of characters, but I really wouldn't mind just seeing them come to life and interact in a small way just randomly doing character appropriate stuff. It would just add value to every amiibo and would definitely get people to buy more of them.
So much potential.
@rjejr
As for injecting some personality to the Switch interface, I agree. I do think they made the right move by keeping it slick and simple, to start, but I also I think optional themes, or at least backgrounds should come eventually. How about unlocking them using amiibo? Put them in the corner as a little buddy on the screen.
Yoshi watching what you pick and doing some contextually chosen silly animations. Maybe when you click to start a game Yoshi zaps it with his tongue and gobbles it up before it launches.
Nintendo has a good customer base now and should remind them how charming and fun it can be.
@aaronsullivan "like the park in Pokemon Let's Go"
I actually started playing Go again just recently just to put Pokemon into that stupid park. I don't even know or care what they'll do, if I can transfer Pokemon form my phone into my Switch game then I'm going to do it.
And I know that probably sounds like one of my mad rants but I'm serious. I thought Id' get the kids into it as well, they both just got nicer new phones, but still not interested even though they are the ones who want the game. Fortunately they both agreed on Eevee so no arguments there.
Do you remember that stupid cat Neko that followed the mouse back on Windows 3.1? I can live with something like that.
@rjejr My wife has been the hold out on Pokémon Go. I did do it for awhile and I almost do it every so often.
The park will be filled, and as silly a fascination it may be (like Neko), I can't deny the attraction.
You reminded me that I have both Let's Go Evee and Pikachu on pre-order... both with the ball. Any advantage to that? Am I crazy? Can we just play with one copy? I ordered them in June. lol.
This was delayed for a reason. It's a shame because it had potential and I emailed the developers for a while but the problems still exist on the Ps4 version. Handling is worse than bad It looks good though but smooth is not a word I would use to describe it.
