The latest event for Pokémon GO has been revealed, celebrating all things psychic-type by giving players the chance to catch lots of new Pokémon.
Called the Psychic Spectacular, this event coincides with Mewtwo's current appearance in Raids, with Psychic-type Pokémon such as Abra, Ralts, and Baltoy appearing more frequently in the wild. If you're still after that precious Abra and Ralts candy to get your hands on a mighty Alakazam or Gardevoir, now's probably the best time to get out there and catch 'em all.
If you're the shiny Pokémon-catching type, you'll also be pleased to know that shiny Drowzees have a chance to appear during the event. Here are the full details:
Features:
Psychic-type Pokémon will appear in the wild more frequently.
Additional Field Research focusing on Psychic-type Pokémon will be available.
Shiny Drowzee has a chance to appear!
The event begins today, 5th October, at 1pm PDT (so 4pm EDT / 9pm UK / 10pm CEST) and will be taking place until 14th October at the same times. As a reminder, the start of a new month has also brought with it the chance to catch the legendary Pokémon Suicune - make sure to get your hands on it now while you still can.
Do you need any of these Pokémon for your collection?

Drowzee? I'd prefer almost any other shiny psychic type, but still neat.
It just had to be Drowzee 😔 I'd have preferred Abra or something but whatever. A shiny Pokémon is still cool.
nobody likes poor Drowzee
Shiny Drowzee is eh, but it follows the pattern of "make a shiny available for a species people don't normally care about" like Krabby, Wingull, Grimer, etc.
The increased Ralts spawns are great though.
@RupeeClock Popular shinys usually drop on community days.
@Heavyarms55
I'm well aware.
There's also a pattern of doing the next starter Pokémon every second month, and following that pattern we may not be finished with starter community days until 2022.
I think the most I've ever used Drowzee was in the TCG, he had a one-card Slap that did 20 damage IIRC
I played this game for about 3 weeks, I wonder if I installed it again my save is in a cloud somewhere? Thinking about giving my stuff to the kids when they get Let's Go Eevee. Well unless it's somehow tied to NNIDs or NA's or whatever.
@rjejr yeah, it's in a cloud from either a google, facebook, or pokemon trainer account tie in. I wish I could just reset all my progress and start again for Let's Go. But I don't know how.
@HobbitGamer My Pokemon Go account is tied to my Gmail account which I set up just to play it. If you set a new Gmail account and register on Go that it should solve your problem!
@HobbitGamer Why on earth would you want to start over, was the story that compelling?
@rjejr The story is one of the best ever in a video game. The writer deserves an award.
@Matthew010 LOL
Stock up on Ralts candy for your Gen 4 Gallade evolution - this has been a Public Service Announcement by the plays the game company.
@HobbitGamer Installed it before, all I had to do was tell it to link to gmail and it didn't, never asked me any info. So I got my level 7 and 11 pokeball back. Would have taken me all afternoon to earn those back. 😉
On the bright side, my newish $50 phone is better than my old $30 phone so I get the VR effect now, and I can see why people got into this. It still bores me, but less boring than before which was all boring.
I didn't know there was an "event", but I went out for a walk and ended up catching some abras, a hipno (dont know how to write his name), all the ones in the picture in the beginning of the post (Slowbro in a raid). Strangely it started raining Pikachus (with a black cap on) all over the place....
