The lovely Jools Watsham has revealed Atooi will be releasing a limited edition physical version of Mutant Mudds Collection on the Nintendo Switch with the help of the London-based publisher, Super Rare Games.
It’s going to be so limited, there will only be 4,000 copies of the game available. It will also come with trading cards and a sticker. No price or release date has been announced at this point in time.
Super Rare Games is also currently taking pre-orders for 3,000 physical copies of Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime on Switch.
Have you already purchased the Mutant Mudds Collection on the Switch eShop? Would you at all consider a physical copy for Switch? Tell us below.

Tempting but seeing how I already have Mudds on 3ds and the Mudds Collection on Switch, I doubt I'll be getting this one.
I know this is years old news, but Mutant Mudds on 3ds was one of the first titles that really made the most of the 3D effect. The first time playing it and seeing that depth with no glasses was amazing.
Well I'm not buying a limited edition copy of a game I never heard of till now
Oooh...
There is a Puzzle game inside.
Interesting, because i was skeptical when i saw the two games with Retro Style.
I think i will take a look the gameplay first.
Is Super Rare Games the UK equivalent to Limited Run Games in the US?
@Charmander987 Where have you been then, lol?
@EVIL-C I never once seen a commercial for that game also I only pay attention to games I like
Yes please
@Anti-Matter We need a new Dr Mario or Tetrisphere!
I understand that most can’t, but I wish that more devs would create physical versions for games that I can actually find in stores, instead of these limited releases. It’s neat to go in GameStop or wherever and see a game like Owlboy or Brawlout on the shelves. Plus, this makes it to where people can pick up the game whenever it works most for them, instead of having to rush to preorder during a very specific timeframe.
Is it gonna be like Banner Saga, with only one game actually on the cartridge? :/
Waiting for eShop sale
@Charmander987 I feel like it had some inspiration from VB Wario Land, which seems like the only VB game people want rereleased.
Limited addition. That reads as though the game is going to be limited to 4,000 copies regardless of the demand. Of course not, it is only the cards that are limited. Misleading advertising.
@zool Huh?
LRG missed the boat on this. This was an obvious choice and one i'm looking forward to picking up.
@Charmander987, If you had have a 3DS or Wii U it is hard to think that you would not have heard of Mutant Mudds, especially if you had or have a 3DS. In any case they are a couple of great titles and if you like platformers and retro 8bit or 16bit graphics you'll find a lot to like , and to answer the question who still says lol? , I think you meant who still types or texts lol this is the comment section for the article above it, anyways I still type, text and say it at times ., LoL..
This is really tempting because I really enjoyed the first game, love the music too. I would really like it on the 3ds though as that is where I played it. I see LRG did a physical edition for the VITA? Wtf why is there no 3ds physical release.
Played one of these briefly on my 3DS a while back; fun if a touch repetitive. Three games in one could be a nice little change of pace...
@GrailUK @zool they make 4000 copies of the physical game and that’s it. A few companies do this.
@Stocksy but by selling it with cards the door is open to make more limited additions with different cards.
Ordered Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime yesterday.
@zool of the same game? No they won’t do that. These companies rely on collectors and they wouldn’t buy if they thought they weren’t ltd.
They have done other games and a few companies do ltd runs.
@Romeo-75 I have been playing the 3ds for 4 years and I never heard of that game
@Charmander987, I recommend both titles on the 3DS if you like the stereoscopic 3D, as the preferred way to play, they make great use of the 3D effect.
I always wanted to get the 3DS versions for the 3D effect but now that there's a physical edition for the Switch, I may have to cough it up! If I like it enough, I may just get a 3DS version double dip for 3D portability.
By the way, the physical version is not the US version of the casing, but U.K. 😐😕. Ah well.....not that big of a deal breaker for me.
