Swery65, the man who gave us the cult classic Deadly Premonition, re-launched the Kickstarter campaign for his latest project, The Good Life, last month and now he's teasing a potential Switch port in the future. In the latest update on the game's crowdfunding page (which has just over a week left to run), Swery65 reveals one of his team has experimented with a version running Nintendo's handheld console.
"We love the Nintendo Switch. And while we cannot commit to making a Switch version for now, our main programmer couldn't stop himself from doing a few experiments with our current build and the console. They have been surprisingly successful so far, much to the whole team's enjoyment... It gives us extra motivation and more drive than ever, and the will to make the campaign successful. I hope it excites you too!"
So it's nothing concrete, and just because a developer can get part of their game running on Switch doesn't mean it's a dead cert - but it's great to see Switch remaining a relevant platform for many a developer. However, with just under $200K left to meet of its target goal, we wouldn't count on its handheld appearance just yet.

I would definitely buy this for Switch if it ever materialises.
I backed the project simply because of Swery. I'd love a switch version, but funding is still a little way off with only a week left so we'll have to see if this actually gets even a PC version.
Go to kickstarter if you love Swery and throw a few $s into the pot.
(also: where is D4 season 2?!?!)
I think Switch is going to get the D4 port.
@QuixoticRocket D4 flopped on Xbox, I don't think they will make it unless Nintendo pick it up like Bayonetta.
With around 35% of the target still to be reached I wouldn't bet on them making it. Perhaps if they'd included Switch in the first place then they would be worrying about it reaching stretch goals rather than its initial goal.

Yeah, I know D4 didn't do well and the chances of a continuation are pretty non-existant, but I can still wish. (Someone has to avenge Little Peggy).

I was hoping for this, but I won't back until a port is definitely confirmed. I just can't put money on a might come to a platform I'll actually play it on.
I would love to see Deadly Premonition on the Switch. It is such a special game, and I never did get to play the Director's Cut. Anything at all by Swery, though, and I am in.
Swery65 should never be referred to as "the Good Life creator", but rather as "the god that blessed us with Deadly Premonition, the Greatest Game Of All Time".
