We saw lots of amazing games that are coming to the Switch eShop in the next few months in yesterday's Nindies Showcase, but eagle-eyed readers might have noticed the absence of the eagerly anticipated competitive shooter Morphies Law, which was so prominently featured in the previous Nindies Showcase. So what happened?
This ambitious game from developer Cosmoscope was originally planned for release in Winter last year, but it seems the development team needs a little bit more time to get this shooter ready for prime time:
As Miyamoto-san famously said "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever." And while this isn't necessarily true in today's world of updates and patches, we're glad to see this game shouldn't be released as an unfinished mess on day one!

PLEASE GET RID OF THAT DETECTIVE PIKACHU ADVERT IT HAS BROKEN YOUR SITE ON MY PHONE ðŸ˜

@AlexOlney @Nintendo_Alski Yeah its pretty bad. It removes chunks of the article (instead of just gapping between).
Example I can't click on the video at the top due to the advert removing almost all of the embed. Plus tweets and such get buried - got no clue if this is the case for web browsers.
On topic. This game looked interesting and hope it does finally get released. Too many good looking indies disappear into development hell.. it sucks.
Where is it?
Give it to me!
Gimme gimme gimme!
Super excited for Morphie's Law! Can't wait.
A competitive multiplayer shooter must release in top form, otherwise it's going to be DOA. And even a well made one can still die quickly due to various circumstances.
Was there really a lot of hype for this one? It seemed pretty gimmicky to me, and not very eye catching aesthetically either.
I guess with the distinct lack of shooters on Switch outside of Spla2oon and Doom, people are clamoring for more of that genre.
Good to know they're still working on it.
I didn't know where was a ton of excitement about it. Then again, I don't play multiplayer focused games all that much, so maybe thats why
I've been really intrigued by the concept and style of the game, and I was surprised to see it not get some sort of update yesterday in the Nindie showcase, but at least the developers confirmed they are in fact still working on it.
Thanks for the update Darren! There is a growing list of fun-looking indie and non AAA-titles that seem to be falling by the wayside, including Morphies, Shakedown Hawaii, that downhill mountain biking game and RedOut. But I suppose it isn't too hard to be patient with developers with lesser resources. Now Steep on the other hand . . . .
Looks like a great game. Will be nice on Switch.
I love games like Splatoon that take the tried and tested method of team shooters and turn it on its head. I have no interest in by the numbers shooters any more.
..except for Doom. I would like more Doom please.
First I’m seeing of this game. Looks like fun. Switch can use some more multiplayer shooters. Like that it’s not bloody & realistic. Look forward to grabbing this once it comes out.
Yeah... I've been wondering what happened to this one and also to Sausage Sports Club.
@rjejr there ya go, Morphies Law information.
@AlexOlney apologies for the rant i will email the support team in future. as @XenoShaun said the advert was taking over the whole site not just gaps in between and was making other articles impossible to read or click on because of it.
@IronMan28 Hey thanks. I did see this before but had nothing to add. Them saying it was due out last winter - woohoo technically spring now as I watch the 12" of snow start falling outside - but then they went silent, hence my confusion.
I'm glad they are just now deciding to focus on development. You would think that would be 1st priority all the time....
@Evenmoresteven I'm wondering if they meant they are putting all of their focus into development versus dividing some of their attention by putting together an updated trailer for the Nindies showcase.
Affraid they wont have player base. Hard to compete with splatoon.
@AlexOlney I white list this site and others to support sites I like but I have had to turn on adblock on mobile a few times lately just to be able to use the site. I think your mobile site CMS templates need a good looking over.
As somebody who doesn’t usually play team shooters this looks very interesting and a lot of fun. Seems like a refreshing take on all the clone like shooter games out there at the moment, the morphing will mean you really have to adapt your thinking and play style instead of sticking to a static technique. Certainly has me at least considering giving it a try.
"And while this isn't necessarily true in today's world of updates and patches..."
Tell that to WWE2K18 🙄
