Stretchy armed brawler ARMS keeps on getting better and better, and the v5.2.0 update is available to download now.
The stand-out feature here is the addition of the party crash mode called "Big Time ARMS". It's a mode originally reserved for Party Crash where all the fighter's arms are massive, and they deal ridiculous amounts of damage. The matches last about 20 seconds at most, so this is fast and frantic fun.
Let's take a look at Nintendo's own update notes:
- The Party Crash mode “Big Time ARMS” can now be selected in regular battle as well, so you can try something a little different. Feel free to use it as a handicap!
- Prior to battle, when selecting ARMS, you can toggle this on and off with the Y button.
- This feature can be used in Versus – Fight.
- Can’t be used in online battles.
- Added 15 new images to Gallery.
- Fixed issue where fighters with super armor would not have their ARMS disabled by electric attacks during a rush attack.
- Fixed issue where a noise would repeatedly play if communication was lost while Dr. Coyle had her extra ARMS out.
- Adjusted abilities of some fighters and ARMS as follows.
Fighters / Arms Adjustments Springtron Specs improved thanks to a certain girl genius! Movement during a super charge has been greatly increased.
He’s a little heavier now, but that’s fine!
Movement speed for normal jumps has decreased.Lola Pop Increased movement speed when jumping. Misango Rush gauge now fills at a rate equal to other fighters during normal times.
Also made it somewhat less difficult for the rush gauge to fill when blue or red.Byte & Barq When jumping while on top of Barq, fixed an issue where a shockwave could be seen emanating from Byte as well.
Fixed an issue where, under certain conditions, the switch on Barqs head would stay pushed in.Dr. Coyle Fixed an issue where, under certain conditions, extra ARMS would appear while firing ARMS. Nade Fixed issue where self-destruct could occur during rush. Bubb Increased charge attack speed. Parasole
ParabolaIncreased rush attack speed. Glusher

It's a shame about those other four characters from that old datamine, was the game really such a flop for Nintendo that they couldn't put them in? Especially as the game clearly keeps getting balance updates.
@Bengyman Maybe they never intended to put them all in? Seems logical to develop a bunch of ideas but only put the best characters in the final game.
I love these pictures showcasing the updates made to the game.
gimmie more art work! need more to unlock! more !
I will update right now.
Big Time ARMS is one of my favorite modes, and I'm so glad this was added! A welcome update here!
I read Big Time Arms and got excited... but it's disappointing. The arms are bigger and harder to dodge, but they don't have the same damage boost as they do in part crash:( That was half the fun.
my students should like Big Time Arms
It’s the game that never stops giving.
I was playing again last night.
I remember when level 4 ai frustrated me to no end.
Last night I was trying a character I never played before, but know I just toy with the level 4 AI.
The learning curve in arms is brutal, but the game is so good when you get over the hump.
Super under appreciated gem of a game!
Keep the updates coming, it’s a welcome surprise that the game is still supported
@cyrus_zuo agreed. It is a pretty cool game tho, one that I always go back to, even tho it is hard for me to win at level three.
For a game that Nintendo said they were done supporting, they sure do keep supporting it. lol Not that I mind, I think it is good that they are doing so!
Wait, Coyle wasn’t supposed to have extra arms appear?
I thought that was her point.
Also ARMs is to the Switch as Kid Icarus Uprising is to the 3DS.
Underrated, some of the best online on the system, and early in the lifespan.
