Horror can be a divisive genre, and it can be extremely tough to get it right. Thankfully if the reactions in the video above are anything to go by, Layers of Fear: Legacy manages to do just that. By letting your mind play tricks on you and fill in the details of what's happening, fear is all but assured.
Make sure you give that video above a good look-in to see what the earliest and tamest parts of the game have in store. Remember though, your play through might be quite different.
Layers of Fear: Legacy lands on the Nintendo Switch eShop on 21st February.

If a game is so scary that I can barely okay it, I'm happy. I've seen some footage of this game already and I'm probably going to pick it up.
I've always thought of Alex as "a witty little sausage" so I'm glad to hear him finally embrace the title.
Really need to play the version I bought on PC.
When Detention comes out, however, I'll definitely be playing it on the Switch.
Great playthrough, Alex. This game wasn't on my radar at all, and now I'm totally intrigued. Your reactions are pretty priceless.
Too spooky for me. Hello neighbor seems more of my kind of horror game.
God that was ANNOYING commentary... it’s a shame too because I normally like what he has to say. This does look like a game I will buy tho!
Not sure about this one. I'm not into horror games, although I did like Resident Evil Revelations. Then again, that is more of an action game.
Noooooo I don't wanna.....
That screen at the start that shows the control options is so similar to Super Mario Odyssey's loading screen it almost seems like a parody of it.
This has definitely intrigued me.
You know what scares me?

Thanks for posting, I love a good scare, thrill. will pick up and try
Would have been great to buy as a physical. Dunno what happened, I hated CD's/DVD whatever and was all digital, but with Switch, I want those cute cartidges, especially all the special editions.
Entertaining video, as always, @AlexOlney. Nice little Evanescence reference there as well...
My girlfriend played this in Xbox One and I decided not to play it. Now that it’s going to be out for Switch I’ll need to check it out.
Glad to see they've added some motion support.
I plan on purchasing it more for the fact that it seems like it is what sadness might have been like 10 years ago. I’ll play it some night when I already can’t sleep.
@AlexOlney Now I really want to know the details of your recurring nightmares about stairs.
I played this on the Xbox One and loved it, the Switch version from the video doesn't seem that graphically different and the motion controls on the doors look a nice touch.
