PQube has announced that Song Of Memories, described as a 'romantic visual novel', will be releasing on Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe in 2018.
Song Of Memories tasks you with finding your soulmate in a musical love story, although you'll need to prepare to fight for your love in the most testing of times as an apocalyptic virus begins sweeping across the world and threatens to infect those closest to you. You can check out the new announcement trailer for this release below, but be warned that adult content is contained throughout.
It is perhaps surprising that the game is coming to the west seemingly uncensored; many of Japan's more risqué titles are heavily watered down before heading overseas. Nevertheless, the game is definitely on its way and you can read more about right it here:
Become the most popular guy around - Romance six gorgeous girls and reshape the story around your chosen one true love - with multiple endings up for grabs.
A cast bursting with life - Forget static visual novel conversations: Fully animated characters move and react to one another's lines, all voiced by the original Japanese cast across more than 40 hours of audio.
A deep, dark secret to uncover - Don't be fooled by the colourful exterior: Song Of Memories is a tale of love in the early days of a monster apocalypse! Can you discover the truth and save the love of your life?
An adventure that defies expectations - Song Of Memories combines all the best parts of visual novels with rhythm-action and light role-playing systems to offer surprises at every turn.
Complex, branching storylines - Your decisions affect what happens! Keep track of every single twist and turn with the storyline tracker, which lets you revisit choices and explore different outcomes.
A musical masterpiece - Discover an incredible, original soundtrack that fills more than four audio CDs, and harness those tunes yourself in an intense rhythm-action battle system.
Is this something that you'll be keeping an eye out for? Let us know in the comments.

No censorship? My wife will forgive me but the weeb in me need to play it!
I've always thought visual novels are an interesting genre, especially when they come to the west. It's good to see that the original vision of the game/story isn't being compromised by censoring it.
You have my interest. Will think about this one when it actually has a release date.
And the knife in the Vita's back just continues to get twisted and dug deeper.
This news is suprising no matter what angle you look at it from. Visual Novel on a Nintendo console in it's early life? In America? With no censorship? Surprising news all the way around. Will buy it for research purposes
Oh I’m sure there’ll be plenty of juggling 😉.
"It is perhaps surprising that the game is coming to the west seemingly uncensored."
Not really; PQube don't tend to censor.
Hentai
@Yasaal
Was that a Naruto reference?
Beautiful! This is a day one purchase for sure.
As a side note, I watched footage of the game on youtube, and I REALLY how like animated the character art seems to be. Seeing them blink, bob around, etc. is a very nice change from the static art in other VNs.
Well, they only censor games (admittedly going further than necessary sometimes) when they need to reach a teen friendly rating to match the similar rating the uncensored version receives in Japan due to the differing sexual standards between the two regions. (Likewise, a T rated shooter made in America is likely to have its violence censored in Japan.)
However, a game like this appears to be designed purely for mature audiences in any region, so there's no need to censor it.
@jswhitfield8
Indeed.
I'm sure it's not quite Urotsukidoji
These kinda games don't tend to be censored. Nisa is the on to do so, Atlus on a few ocations but others don't to my knowledge.
Dear God . Bless Japan.
I've been waiting for the visual novels. Glad to see they're coming.
@Obitokamui64 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Looks amazing 😳
Yup, you know the Switch is doing well and getting tons of games when there are multiple boob games (This, that Senran game, a Senren Pinball game, Gal Gun 2, etc.) on the way! XD
@PtM No, the Switch is successful in the US.
I love visual novels, though many of them have put me off after a few hours, especially the dating ones. (Zero Escape and Danganronpa are among my very top tier games ever, but Root Letter, Ever17 and Steins;Gate left me bored and never finished.)
This one though, I have a feeling I'm going to love it. Rhythm battle system? Apocalyptic romance? Tons of different ways to make me cry? Yes please.
totally getting both this and Nekopara when they come out. Like how the Switch is getting so many different types of games.
@Yasaal
I was hoping
So it's basically Doki Doki Literature Club but without the glitches? Meh, I tend not to like visual novels (or at least not as video games) because they have minimal interactivity and this game doesn't seem to be any different. Probably not getting it unless the storyline is really good.
I like that this is happening. It shows that Nintendo is FINALLY becoming more open to games like this in the west.
Anime was a mistake
@Oat From what I have found by google, I don't think this game is based on any anime.
And even if it was a misstake, its a great mistake. Lots of great anime series and movies out there
There isn’t a single guy in this trailer... Is this only for male players then? I thought it sounded interesting, but I’m not really attracted to girls...
Lol, another pervert game...or is it a Doki Doki?!
@tobibra oh I'm just trolling. It's just a common post when I'm poking fun at excessive fanservice in anime. I actually like anime a lot
Hahahahaha love japan. Those pervs.
@Oat Oh. I know its a misquote of Miyazaki, its just hard to know when people mean it or not. Because there is allways some busybody complaining about ecchi games, and for all I know this ain't even that ecchi. For all I know this trailer had all the ecchi scenes the games has to offer
