Developer Coatsink has announced that its attractively hand-drawn platformer Shu will be arriving digitally on Nintendo Switch on January 23rd 2018.

The game is set across six different worlds and will see you play through fast-paced platforming action, battling to save your friends from a mysterious storm. There are ten recruitable characters for you to find, as well as a whole host of secrets to discover, in a world visually reminiscent in some ways to games such as Rayman Legends (which is not a bad thing at all).

The Switch version of the game will include the Caverns of The Nightjars add-on content as standard and was originally planned to be released last fall; Coatsink's COO Eddie Beardsmore has explained the slight delay, however:

‘With so many great games arriving on the Nintendo Switch in Fall of 2017 - like Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and RIVE - we took some extra time to ensure our much-loved platformer got the treatment it deserved. We’re extremely proud to have Shu running at 60fps in hand-held and docked mode.’

Shu was well received when it launched on other platforms last year and looks to be another welcome addition to the eShop - it'll be priced at £7.69 in the UK, $9.99 in North America, and €8.49 in Europe.
