We thought Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns was an excellent game when we reviewed it, praising the laidback pace and the breadth of content available in the base game. Now, a decently sized expansion has been put out for $7.99 that adds a whole lot more on top of this, giving you more options for dialogue, events, marriage, and more.
To accompany the new release, Marvelous! has put together a nice trailer that details all of what comes in the new update. Not ones to leave anybody out, the company has also put the game on a 30% discount on the eShop and also put out a free update for existing owners that adds a few new outfits and some bug fixes. It seems that now is as good a time as any to jump in, so for those of you who want to give the old 3DS a little attention and can put down Stardew Valley, this might be worth a look.

I prefer Stardew Valley...
@Lizuka I can't speak for the first one, but I reviewed this one and I can assure you that it is for you. Trio of Towns is about as traditional as it gets; it's simple and chill, but there is so much to do if you keep playing it. Believe me, I haven't played many of these farm sim games for a reason, but Trio of Towns was utterly delightful, I honestly found myself surprised.
Story of seasons actually is a lot better than Stardew Valley. I’m not sure what to think of this DLC but either way the game itself is a perfect farming sim with a TON of charm.
I have yet to get this game. It looks so good! This trailer makes me think of HM: Animal Parade, a little bit (which has been my favorite HM to date).
I did try the first Story of Seasons, but just couldn't get into it (the pace was a bit slow for me). Would those who have played both say that the 2nd is an improvement over the 1st?
@Lizuka I can't speak to the PS4 version. But I have Stardew on Steam and Switch. The PC version I played exclusively on my GPD Win (portable gaming PC with buttons built in). I used mouse controls once in a blue moon. On Switch, the ONLY time I mess with the cursor is for pulling up active quests (I miss the PC versions hot key lol). But it is so infrequent that most of the time I don't see the cursor or have a need for it. I'd highly recommend giving it another shot! I've been obsessed, and like you I prefer the more traditional Harvest Moon entries.
