PQube has just launched Astalo Games' top-down racer Street Heat on Steam, and has announced that it will also be coming to Switch in early 2018.
Very much like the recently-released Mantis Burn Racing, Street Heat is all about old-school action with a focus on quick gaming sessions and multiplayer. Up to four players can take part and the on-screen action is accompanied by a "pumping '80s synth soundtrack".
Let us know if you've already checked this out on Steam, or if you'll be keeping a close eye on the Switch release early next year.

Definitely looks unique. Ill keep an eye on this.
Hmmm not bad....strange color scheme but cool
Stiff competition from "Mantis Burn Racing", but time will tell...
I really don't get it. We get decent 3d racers like gear club which seem to struggle so we end up with poop like this? Not all Switch owners have gone through that weird time warp!
Not sure about that art style... cool for a trailer, but not sure I want to play like that... glad to see top-down racers being made.
I would love to see a modern, polished, Super Off Road style racer with some Excitebike mechanics... or maybe just another really good Excitebike game... the Wii game was quite fun, but pretty simple and short.
...aaand there is the colorful top down racer I wanted after looking at Mantis Burn!
I'll wait for reviews, but consider me interested!
I love the way this looks. This might be my first racer on Switch (I played MK8 on WiiU).
Music is fantastic... wonder if I can grab that ost somewhere...
Not a fan of top down racing games so I may skipped this but the soundtrack is nice.
@Chibi No offense, but I would definitely agree that you don't get it, since that's a rather weird assumption that you're making there. One game doing bad/average/less doesn't result in other games being released as some kind of replacement option, that's completely unrelated and a rather crazy conclusion to come to. Not to mention completely baseless...
Titles like Mantis Racing were already announced quite some time ago, either at the same time or only slightly after Gear Club was announced, so back then, it wasn't yet known that there would be any potential issues with that title. This title here was more than likely also already in the works at the same time, so the same applies to that as well.
Looks nice, and I like the music. It almost feels like something that you'd get when you would have a top down racer taking place in the world of Viewtiful Joe. Well, that's what this made me think about, anyway.
I'll purchase at the right price
Is that a DeLorean?!
Yup, skipping mantis and waiting for this instead. Can't beat racing in a DeLorean

It's certainly something that sounds interesting and attractive. This is one of those game that would be best on Switch though.
