One of the standout games on the Switch eShop is that of Slime-San, the quirky platformer that stars a big green blob stuck inside a giant worm. It was a great game at launch, full of content, which made it all the more exciting when the developers announced that a sizable expansion would be adding a brand new story campaign for free.
In an update on Reddit, Fabraz mentioned that the expansion is expected within the next two months, and will be adding a new story and boss, 25 new levels, a new game plus mode, a new hub world, new mini-games, new target modes, new settings, and online leaderboards. And for those of you that still are on the fence about Slime-San, a demo is being submitted to Nintendo which should hopefully find its way onto the eShop soon.
What do you think? Will you be getting Slime-San now? How do you think it stacks up compared to other platformers on the eShop? Share your thoughts in the comments below

What a weird looking game. There's something quirky about it. And I don't know why but it reminded me of The NewZealand Story at times.
I have it. It’s ok if you like quirky and difficult platformers. More content for free is fine by me, even if I’m maybe only 1/10th or the way through the original levels.
I slightly regret the purchase, but now slightly less-so.
I have bought a lot of games for my Switch since I got it in July and this is the only one I regret buying.I feel like deleting it never mind updating it. It's really rare for my own opinion on a game to be so vastly different from NL's and I've been coming here for a long time.I think the last time I disagreed with a score as much was with Maboshi Arcade on Wii Ware. I'd honestly be hard pushed to give Slime San a 5/10 even if it cost a fiver so I can't quite understand how others can think it's a "standout title" or "masterpiece" . From the comments under the review of other members who purchased the game, it seems I'm alone in thinking this way about it so don't mind me.
I've already sunk 30 hours on this masterpiece and my body is still ready
fantastic game, proper addictive old school stuff. hard as nails in places and charming as all hell. you will die a lot and everytime you do its your fault. great cotrols and rapid fire respawn stuff. love it.
Keen to try the demo, but I will still likely wait on a sale.
@OorWullie I'm fine with other people not quite getting it. I finished it 100% and had lots of fun, the game is already ridiculously full of content, the OST is outstanding, every now and then it introduces new mechanics in clever ways, the level design is perfectly suited for every gamer, who just wants to get to the end and who likes a bit of extra demanding platforming (those apples...) or beat every level within the time given. But hey, we all have our distinct opinion
@SuperCharlie78 Yeah I found it strange if I'm honest. I'm not a hard man to please when it comes to platformers as its my favourite genre but Slime San just didn't do it for me .I gave it a good go too, putting a good few hours into it thinking eventually I'll start enjoying myself but nope, never happened. Good to see you and many others enjoyed it so much though.
Definitely a game I want, but not currently, particularly with the so many choice Indie titles pushing to the front on the line, and with Odyssey releasing soon...
also on the fence on this one so yes a demo would be great to try
I need a retail version when they have all the new content, patches, and updates included.
Just what I was waiting for! Can’t wait to buy it

I bought it and played 30 or so levels. I didn't have quite as much fun as I was hoping and I found the amount of things to do a bit intimidating. I think they should've gradually opened up new places to visit instead of giving you a huge town to explore with all kinds of shops and collectables. I will revisit the game at some point, though.
This game is awesome, ppl should try it.
Game is challenging and fun! I love a good platformer and this one does a lot of things right. The extra content is icing on the cake, I will be playing this one for a good while to come! Haven't really seen this visual style before which is fun.
