In today's episode of 'Nintendo licenses the darndest things' we have Collectible Lunchbox Kits for Nintendo Switch; well, they're more interesting than those standard cases we're all carrying around.
PowerA is behind these licensed curios that blend the nostalgia for old lunchboxes with useful stuff like headphones and a screen protector, with the aforementioned 'lunchbox' case and a Joy-Con 'comfort grip' supposedly only available through the kit.
There are three options available, one for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and two for Super Mario Odyssey.

They're due for release - in North America at least - during November - Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the 6th and the Odyssey options on the 15th; all will be priced at $29.99USD.

But what is it like inside?
Can you put a Switch inside? What about the dock? What's the quality like?
So...is it an actual case for your switch or a lunchbox?
Congrats to these guys for utilizing the license to its best potential.
Did anyone ever review those Power A wired controllers?
I have a Twilight Princess one of these for the Wii. Got it at a liquidation store for $5 a few years ago. Never opened it. If it's anything like that, it'll be standard lunchbox size.
I like. I wouldn't mind sporting one of these at work.
I dislike ear buds they don't feel comfortable to wear them. I do like the controller grips since they have the nintendo characters on them.
@pitchblack Ditto. I prefer cans too.
But the Odyssey lunchboxes sure look interesting!
What do the insides of the cases look like? I don't want my Switch just rattling around in there.
I got a case that looks like a Switch version of the old Game Boy cases from the 90's and early 2000's.
My switch will sit nicely between my sandwich and my juice box
Saw those on Amazon.ca. They definitely look better than the case that came with our bundle. Might get one.
I’m hungry for these lovely lunchbox goodies!
Had these for Zelda and Metroid back in the Wii day's I believe.
Seems to be some confusion with some of the comments. These are not designed as cases to hold your Switch. They're just a plain old metal lunch box (think 1980's) with an assortment of accessories inside.
The box looks lovely.
Please don't eat your Switch because definetely it is not a Sandwich.
The best way to sneak your Switch into lunch
These are already out for sale at GameStop - at least the one near me. Bought the Mario one. It's regular lunch box size. I'll probably never use it nor much of the stuff inside, but I'm a sucker for items like this. Its a very nice design.
Also, this is a lunch box - NOT a Switch carrying case. It does not have any padding or device inside to house your Switch. It is only a lunch box.
Cool grips, even though I believe Nintendo already forgot the concept of "charging grips".
I just want the grips. I resent having to pay AU$50 for a bunch of unnecessary accessories just to be able to buy the Skyrim one.
Zelda grip looks cool; however I'd advise anyone to feel the grip before purchasing, I had to buy a PowerA grip to replace my NIntendo one I'd left at my sisters....it was a weird shade of red, and the plastic is incredibly cheap feeling and not pleasant to hold. After a couple of days I ended up buying the Nintendo chargeable grip.
The red background Mario odyssey one is better then the other Mario odyssey box.
