Infinite Minigolf has been a pretty solid release on the Switch eShop this year, with the Zen Studios title including various features such as online multiplayer and cross platform sharing through the course editor. Just recently there was also free DLC - Tortuga - adding another environment along with Tournaments and user created holes to match. The only downside the release had was a period where it disappeared from the North American store as a result of a ratings problem.
Zen Studios has now cut the price of the game to remind eShop gamers of its presence, and no doubt to celebrate the recent increase in content. It's a 30% discount, so it's now £9.44 (down from £13.49) in the UK and $10.49USD in the US (down from $14.99), as two examples.
As an extra note, if you have the game and are wondering where the Tortuga DLC is, make sure the software is updated to version 1.0.1 by highlighting its game window and hitting +. The go into the eShop, find the game's listing and scroll down the page, the DLC is sitting there as a free download.
Are you tempted to take a putt on this one?

Hmmm... might have to give it a try for that price... but the discount doesn't hit until October 17th? If so, that's an early announcement!
The Switch has so many good games. I need more time and $$$ for it all.
@holygeez03 I think it means the offer finishes then.
I had been tempted by this at launch but now at the new price and dlc I can't refuse
With a discount, it's time to jump in and see how it is. So. Many. Courses!
I wish there were a quick free demo... I have concern over the controls...
They are upset Golf story stole their market share.
@holygeez03 Same
Excellent, this was on my long list of shop games I've been waiting for a discount for.
@Roam85 Um...They are two completely different kinds of Golf games. Infinite MiniGolf is purely mini golf and built on the premise of its course editor and variety in online play. Golf Story has retro-esque video golf play built with an RPG around it.
@RyanSilberman yes but there is a huge overlap of people who would be interested in the two titles. Namely: golf game fans. So while there is vast variety between the two, they still share market share.
@Roam85 ...What? That's like saying Yoku's Island Express and Stern Pinball Arcade will compete for a market share just because they both happen to be pinball-related games no matter how different they actually are from each other. That makes no sense.
If you want to play regular golf and be invested in characters within a story, would you pick Infinite MiniGolf?!
@Roam85 No, accept what RyanSilberman says to you. It's only logical.
It's on sale now. Just added it to my library of games for $10 and some change.
I swear, who ever is planning these thumbnails man... This haves to not be a coincidence because you did a similar thing with Golf Story's thumbnail.
Stop making me feel like a immature child for being the only one to notice this! ;(
I think I will have to grab this. I was tempted by this but was still distracted with BotW when it came out and never got around to buy it
tempted...
@RyanSilberman Actually it would be like saying Inazuma Eleven and Super Mario Strikers share market share. And while they do attract different audiences, they still have an overlap in market share because you need people that want to play a football/soccer game. Even different kind of those games. There is a core genre overlap to both. Just not a video game genre.
@Cosats I accept that he said it. I just also respond in disagreement. You can accept that I suppose.
@RyanSilberman @Roam85 @Cosats
Sorry guys but he’s right - I personally am one of those people - I enjoy golf games but not a massive fan and although they are different, I’m not about to go purchase two games that I have to play with a ‘golf mechanic’.
The pinball example you used is a bit more of expansive gap between those games if you have played them, though I totally hear what you’re all saying, BUT I am a perfect example of where regardless of the different overall gameplay, I don’t personally want to pay for two golf mechanic games in the same way that I wouldn’t (at the moment) buy the Dragonball game because I’m playing Injustice 2... it’s similar enough mechanics to mean I buy one of them right now and maybe try the other later... the discount is for this reason.... it makes people like me say... ok fine I’ll try another “golf” game.
I’m sure you might all reply with ‘but they are different’ and I get that, and some people would like both... I however, like many others, will not.. unless discounted like this.
Still going to wait for the motion controls Zen has said it is considering.
Eh...don't feel the need, now that I have Golf Story.
After playing some of Golf Story, I feel like playing this. It's definitely the Golfing Season!
Might pick it up. But I still got others I want and still have to finish.
The interesting part is that at Nintendo land its news everytime a small game is 30% discount. On Playstion Store now
The Heavy Rain & BEYOND: Two Souls Collection (movie production and high quality games) is 60% off just 14.99 euro for both games. I'm not saying its not nice to have small discounts. I'm just saying we (as Nintendo ecosystem) could do even better.
I've been stocking eshop credit I can find at 20% off and waiting for sales to maximize the discount. This sale pleases me. Competition is really heating up on Switch. A deluge of quality Indie titles are out now and by the end of the Holiday season there will be many more along with a jampacked retail lineup. New owners will probably be overwhelmed by the amount of quality software available and only so much left to spend on games (and then there are the usual fall releases for platforms people already own). A lot of older releases will probably go on sale to regain visibility (especially if Nintendo doesn't leave the eshop in the sorry barebones state it is and adds useful tabs for things like sales).
@dimi I get that people usually compare eshop deals vs. PSN or XBL deals, and for the most part yeah, it's cheaper to play old games on non-Nintendo consoles. Sure.
But here you're comparing a deal on a march 2016 game which was already a re-release, to an eshop game that has less than a year on all platforms, and that came on Switch 2 months ago.
@Nico07
I tried the game over the weekend... the controls are OK with the Pro controller... not great with the JoyCon sticks, but not too bad after some sensitivity tweaking... also, you can share controllers if everyone wants to use a Pro, but you don't have enough controllers. In fact, I think the default in Local Play was to share the controller and we had to change it every time before starting a match. It is nice that you could have lots of players with only a few controllers...
The user created courses/holes that I played were not very good, but maybe I just need to find a way to filter and find better options. The developer created courses seem MUCH better and there are different difficulty levels for each course which appear to add more obstacles, which extends the offerings a little bit.
Overall... I would say it's worth the discounted price... but I recommend sticking to the "official" courses in the beginning and figuring out what controller/sensitivity settings work for you.
@holygeez03 Yeah I bought it last night before the sale ends Tuesday. It's not bad for the discounted price, will have to try tweaking the sensitivity as it seemed a little off for my prederence too. I was using the Pro controller only and it seemed okay. As far as courses I had only tried the Tortuga DLC and they were good courses. The obstacles of the sleeping pirate that would move his leg, or the pair swordfighting made for some nice obstacles in an otherwise straightforward game. Will have to try some user created content, though it seems like Mario Maker there can be very good or mediocre content to sift through. Again for the current price its a decent game worth the cost of admission in my opinion. Will be interesting to see if the developer keeps supporting it with new content, modes, and gameplay tweaks.
