Anyone looking for Infinite Minigolf on the North American eShop for some weekend play may be a tad baffled at the moment, as the game has been temporarily pulled from the store; Zen Studios, however, is on the case.
Oddly it seems to have been caused by a ratings change; Zen Studios initially tweeted surprise, before updating around an hour later to confirm the cause.
We didn't see anything that wasn't family friendly when we played, but it could also be a technicality; alternatively perhaps some players have been naughty (somehow?) with their user created courses.
In any case it'll hopefully be back soon (it's still live in Europe); we gave it a recommendation in our Infinite Minigolf review.

I was wondering what happened!
Oh bogey
This is just hilarious! Hope it comes back soon to the eShop.
It was rated what ?
I guess that one course where you have to hit the ball between the school girls legs wasn't family friendly enough.
I went On the site 4x scrolling through trying to figure out what game was missing! lol 😂
I didn't get a chance to purchase this yet so let's hope it returns soon!
@NintendoFan4Lyf
Rated Teen WHAT ?!
What is going on ?
They're probably just updating it to remove all the balls and holes from the game. I can't believe they got away with including such blatant innuendo when it served no purpose to the actual gameplay.
Really looking forward to the new clean version.
File this unnecessarily puritanical PC censorship BS under reasons why trump won
Hopefully they keep the game the same and just change the rating.
Works out for them - this means when it's re-uploaded it'll be back at the top of the recent releases (I bet).
...well it's no wonder why it was pulled....the game has a lot of threesomes and foursomes..Golfers are some real swingers..
@Maxz Well, really, it's golf, I mean the innuendo has all been there for 300 years. Darn those dirty-minded ancient Scots....
ESRB ratings are worthless anyway especially on an online store where proof of age isn't even required
Zen and Nintendo have had problems with launches since the Wii U and even on the 3ds. This is nothing new and sadly almost expected to have a problem in at least one region.
@SH007ME LOL, made my day.
@TruenoGT hahahahaha good one.
@andywitmyer I think I'm going to file people who think the ESRB, an international self regulatory ratings board that is not associated with the American government in any capacity having anything to do with how you should vote in a national election under reasons why Trump won.
@Roam85 I don't think he implied that the ESRB was a governmental agency at all. He was talking about the overly sensitive, politicized atmosphere of the Western world as a whole, that requires a mini-golf game to be rated T, to be a reason that Trump won.
But let me just file smug, condescending liberals that can't take jokes, under reasons why Trump won as well.
Thank goodness someone is thinking about the children.
@DEADCELL Doesn't it have a hole where the hole is located between mock schoolgirl legs? Someone posted that here, maybe they were making it up, but if that's in the game, I could understand mini golf getting a T rating.
Glad I picked mine up already. The game isn't perfect, but I love the art style and the wacky courses.
What game?
@andywitmyer One of a LONG list. It's sad, when a MINI GOLF game, is a problem. #MAGA
This doesn't seem to be a super popular game, but in case anyone was wondering, this should be back on US eshop by next weekend:
"Thank you for reaching out for us! We are still waiting for Nintendo's
approval for our new build, which was required so we can get back the
Everyone ESRB rating. Getting approval for a game is a long process, because
Nintendo is strict in their quality control on their platforms, which is
good for us gamers in general, but can be unfortunate in situation like
this.
To get to the point, I hope that the approval process can be finished
mid-next week, and we can re-release the game in the US eShop by next
weekend.
Thank you for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience!
Best regards,
Tamas Balog
Head of Studio
Zen Studios"
