We're rather looking forward to Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, due on 3DS on 6th October, as it's another chance to play a much-loved game. This remake of the Game Boy Advance classic is shaping up to be yet another great game for Nintendo's veteran handheld.
While the game was first revealed at E3, we got to see a little bit more of it in yesterday's Nintendo Direct. One of the new features added is the ability to scan compatible amiibo - such as Mario and Bowser - to get additional stamp sheets, which offer up items in both of the game’s modes.
Of course the new Goomba and Koopa Troopa amiibo are supported, these are released on the same day. Do you plan to pick this up in October and stamp some sheets?

If you pre-order in Nintendo Store you get a free Mario hat, or they have a set of Game, hat and the 2 Amiibos

But played the original to 100% complete and haven't picked up my 3DS to play since March as I play on my switch nowadays.
I think I'll be skipping this one, in part because I've already played the original to death but mostly because this remake doesn't run in 3D. There's really no excuse.
Hope Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story remake will follow.
@thesilverbrick Wait, it doesn't run in 3D? Well there is no point in double dipping, just for the Minions part.
I have the original but never played it, this looks like the perfect way to experience it brand new.
Just noticed I own Luigi and Bowser amiibos....but no Mario. Gotta fix that and pick up a Goomba
Okay, what is the purpose to collect Stamps ?
I'll be skipping this since the original is available for much cheaper.
This seems preferable to what they did with amiibo in Paper Jam.
The cards you earned from amiibo were too OP, you could level up far too quickly, but scanning the amiibo every time was also a hassle.
Just getting some optional gear and a stamp system is what I'd like to see.
@Bunkerneath Nope. Ridiculous, right? Especially after Dream Team and Paper Jam ran in 3D.
Got the game and the Goomba Amiibo on pre-order. Gotta love a bit of Goomba
This one is one of the best, if not the best, Mario & Luigi games.
I am not sure why but I never got into the original game. I thought that the jokes were lame at best and the whole plot dull. After that I never gave those series a chance again.
As long as I get to get game-breaking gear such as "heal yourself every turn" combined with "get bro points by attacking" by the endgame, sure, why not. Hopefully not having amiibo won't detract from the experience.
I'm still getting this one. I lost my original copy on GBA and I want to replay it on the go again, remake or not.
Still own my gba copy of the game. Did purchase the VC version on Wii U. But I actually don't feel like getting the remake as the original is perfect for me. Plus the extras don't make it more interesting, just a bit more to do.
Dream Team and Paper Jam were iffy but this looks more like Bowsers Inside Story which was class.
amiibo that work are Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Toad, Bowser Jr, Boo, Goomba and Koopa Troopa
The stamp is a one time use thing and gives you non character-specific items. But Boo Goomba and Koopa have more functionality in Bowser's Minions.
Is it hopeless to wish for a Switch port for most of DS/3DS games?
@thesilverbrick You seriously not getting the game because of no 3D, that's really a minor complaint
@Videogameguru50 Is it, though? I bought a 3DS to play handheld games in 3D. Arbitrarily removing said feature from a game in a series that has used 3D in its last two installments is a definite negative. It speaks of laziness, and I don't have money to invest in lazy ports. That and the fact that it's a remake of a game I've already played to death are what has made my decision.
It's a remake not a port okay but to each their own
If it plays on 2D only why would Nintendo charge us the full price of the game ? What about people who bought 3DS to enjoy playing the game on 3D like me ? in not sure why most of the games lately only on 2D !?!!??!
Oh man, I can't wait for this game. I've played through this a few times on GBA and once on Wii U VC. Probably my favorite GBA title. The amiibo functionalities sound like a nice little bonus.
