Hamster has confirmed that its next Neo Geo title on Switch will be Super Sidekicks.
The 1992 classic started a series of soccer titles on the format and is famous for its quick and compelling gameplay, punctuated with high-quality 2D artwork which pops up at key moments during each match.

Well it's... Different.
Superb, I used to play this with my mate in the arcades. It used to be tucked away in the dark corner and was only 10p a go. It was the perfect game to play when waiting for our turn on Daytona or Sega Rally. It's probably not held up well at all but I'm buying it just for the nostalgia and the laughs I'll get with my mate when I'm back home next month. Hopefully some of the later entry's will arrive in time too. The 2nd one was a huge improvement over the first.
Who knew that good ol' "Super Sidekicks" would be the very first football (soccer to our American friends) that would be released on the Switch? I have rather fond memories of playing it in the arcades and with friends later at home. There was one thing that really made all of us quite mad: They messed up Portugal by calling it Spain or more likely they messed up Spain by giving the team Portugal's uniform. SNK, you silly...

Thank God for hamster from a classics standpoint. Not sure how they circumvented Nintendo's plans with the classics but others like Sega and Capcom should sit up & take notice. They're missing out on sales here! Between this & Neo golf the Switch is already a step ahead of Wii U with sports selections. Keep em coming Hamster. At this pace we'll have the whole Neo Geo library on Switch! Now where's super baseball 2020 & league bowling?!?
