Those of you old enough to recall the good old 8 and 16-bit days will no doubt remember the thrill of finding a new cheat code for your latest game which unlocked new features or gave you special powers.
Those days are all but gone, but thankfully Yacht Club Games is keeping the dream alive with Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment. The company tweeted that there's a cheat code for the faux-retro platformer which enables "Xtreme" mode, making the lead character behave like Capcom's Blue Bomber in Mega Man Xtreme.
That's not all - there's another code as well which changes the colour of the Specter Knight:
Have you tried either of these codes out already? Let us know what you think by posting a comment.

I'm still waiting for the EU 3DS release, hoping that's today.
@RupeeClock same here
Yacht Club should try to get permission to make a MegaMan game.
Cool. Patiently awaits the Wii U release.
They should have made the cheat code ↑↑↓↓←→←→BA.
@BionicDodo It's probably not a good idea for a company to purposely connect themselves to Konami these days.
Nice.
They never cease to amaze me, I really love Yacht Club. Specter Knight looks great with those colours!
@BionicDodo Using the Konami code to unlock a MegaManX Mode ? Uhm.... Yeah, not a good idea
@Topic
Yup, i just created my "Specter Man X" Profile
I always end up buying the purple colored armor so the blue color is alright with me lol.
It's probably a great idea. I'm going to try it.
Haha, nice! I was thinking to myself wouldn't it be cool if he cool bounce off walls like MMX. Nice touch Yacht Club, nice touch.
I wonder if there will be any more codes in the back of next month's Game Pro magazine! 😉
