SteamWorld Dig was a bit of a success to say the least when it was first released back in 2013, and with any luck the developers will see similar success with the direct sequel, SteamWorld Dig 2 on the Switch. We caught up with Image & Form Games at EGX Rezzed to chat about the upcoming game, and community manager Julius Guldbog was very eager to put us in our place and reveal that the game had actually been confirmed to be a reality years and years ago, and a search through their Twitter feed reveals just that.

Make sure you check out the video above which definitely started as an interview but quickly devolved into more of a chat and a laugh, and if you're keen to see the game in action then the video below is nothing but pure gameplay to warm any minig-obsessed cockles you may have.
Are you planning to dig into this in the Summer?

Yes, it's a video.
@AlexOlney I was wondering what you meant then remembered some people complained that these are videos instead of written interviews. If the game's anywhere near as good as the first it'll be fantastic. It certainly looks nice.
@AlexOlney lol brilliant 😂
I keep saying that, but they really are a great and very open team.
@AlexOlney i am a big fan of you guys keep up the great content
@AlexOlney - I don't like these video interviews, so could you turn the video into a written article......then tape yourself reading the article so I don't have to read it?
@Gerbwmu @AlexOlney
Then you need to make a transcript of that video so I don't have to watch it, then make a video of that transcript so I dont have anything else... (Repeat to infinity and beyind )
@AlexOlney Was that you playing in the second video?
Absolutely! I cannot friggin' wait for this game!
@AlexOlney
Thanks for the great vids you make week in, week out Alex, i always enjoy them. I'm really excited for this game, the promise of this being closer to Super Metroid is very exciting to me. The team have such a passion for what they do, Julius seems like a great guy, i will be buying the game day one on Switch to support them as much as possible
Dig 1 and Heist were such fun experiences. I'm more pumped for Dig 2 than any game this year other than Mario Odyssey.
Best reason to to buy a Switch thus far...
Ah, its not procedural generated. Its a Metroidvania, and it looks awesome. Now I am interested!
Big thanks to all who took this well and expanded the joke beyond its natural conclusion, love it!
@Toadie Thanks Toadie, words like this mean a lot more than you know!
@Zeargo Certainly is
