Image & Form confirmed late last year that it's releasing a new SteamWorld game in 2017, which is unsurprising in light of the franchise proving a success for the company. It's expected on Switch, of course, and it's also been known for a little while that it'll be on show this March at PAX East.

Image & Form has now posted the following image and message as a light-hearted tease.

We're bringing SteamWorld Project 2017 to PAX East in March! Which means the reveal is not far off. Can you find the hint(s) in this pic?

As for the clues here, there's a fan-made Rusty amiibo (it's featured in past videos by the studio) which has some hoping for a game utilising a figure and starring the SteamWorld Dig protagonist. There are various references to the previous games, while plenty are assessing the books (which mostly relate to programming) and the '493' written on a box.

We're certainly looking forward to seeing what's next in the series, with both Dig and SteamWorld Heist proving to be excellent eShop titles.

What do you hope to see with 'SteamWorld Project 2017'?

With thanks to Spoony_Tech for the heads up.
