Unless you've been trapped in a genie's bottle, you'll probably know that WayForward's amazing looking Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has finally made it to the Wii U. To celebrate Shantae embarking on her first full HD adventure the good folks over at WayForward recently put out a launch trailer with a rousing soundtrack which you can watch above.
As the story goes a mysterious crime wave sweeps across Sequin Land, so it's up to good old Shantae to save the day. Players can use Shantae's devastating hair-whip attack to send monsters flying, or even belly dance to transform into a more powerful creature form. If you manage to topple the masterminds behind each criminal caper you'll face the ultimate showdown against Shantae's arch nemesis - the bodacious buccaneer Risky Boots!
We're currently in the process of reviewing Shantae: Half-Genie Hero and impressions are very good so far. Have you picked up the game yet? What do you think of Shantae's first HD outing?

"Swash your buckles" - What a way to confuse non-English speakers...
Any difference this version vs PS4?
Great game, I've been playing it since last night. I'm not sure yet if it's as good as Pirate's Curse but it's still early days.
The levels feel more linear than in previous games and it doesn't use the gamepad at all (inventory on the touchscreen would have been nice). But is very fun, looks and sounds amazing and runs perfectly.
I'll have to get it on ps4 only because I got the first game yesterday for 2.50 And the 2nd game for 4.99.playstation sale.looks awesome
@slim80 it sure is always amazing compared to nintendoes
Got it last night. I'm really blown away by how incredible it looks. Gameplay is super tight so far, even though it's a bit more level-based than Pirate's Curse.
Wii U, the console where many indies and small developers finally got to realize their dream of releasing to an official Nintendo home console. Sure, this resulted in a bunch of 2D platformers but what a great collection, especially if you include Nintendo's own offerings with it.
Because of DK, Wooly World, Rayman, New SMB you can't get this selection anywhere else (Rayman counts in my book). Way Forward is a part of this, too, with Mighty Switch Force. (Yeah, it's available on Windows and 3DS, but I'm leaving 3DS out of this.)
Now... let's get them all to run on the Switch.
EDIT: I now catch up on stories and see that nintendo life has graced us with TWO stories containing the general sentiment of my above comment. Oh well.
I really like that song. Is it in the actual game?
Ah, such a lovely trailer!
