For most it's still a Holiday period, which might explain the rather quirky distribution of Nintendo Download Update details for Europe. There's been no UK press release that we can see, but the ever-generous Daan Koopman has sent us a press release from Nintendo's Dutch subsidiary. The offering this week is simply a list of discounts, with a couple of new 3DS video downloads to also consider; let's get to it.

If you haven't gotten these discounted Nintendo Selects, stop fooling around and buy them.
Also buy Boxboxboy, because its a good game.
20 for the New Mario + Luigi bundle is mighty tempting... Other discounted games I have (no interest in).
When other companies do discounts, they cut like 50-70%, and do it regularly, like Capcom's sales every 2 months. Why is Nintendo so based?
Where's Smash 64 dammit!
Sooo who's going to be the one to tell Nintendo that selling a game for the price it should've originally been isn't a sale?
Nice to see Nintendo do their annual first-party sale. Hardly anyone's going to know about it, but it's a nice one for the fans.
If €41.99 works out as £34.99 for Pokken Tournament, that'd a good price.
And if €15.99 works out as £9.99 or something for LEGO City on 3DS, that's also a steal.
As usual Nintendo have weak discounts on old games.
On PSN you get up to 90% off on older PS4 exclusives for example.
@rushiosan
Pretty much. If only every store could be like Steam.
It's finally time to get Super Mario 3D Land, I've been looking for a decent price for a while
The USA version of Shin Chan is messed up but hilarious
This is a pretty bad week...
Already got what I would be interested in, and the sales aren't enough to convince me to try any of the other games.
Wow, Nintendo is really grinching it up this holiday. First, they sic their Australian division on Pokémon Prism, and now, their New Year's discounts continue to be the garbage that their usual sales are. Meanwhile, other sites have things like Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition (with the two expansions) for $30, which is 40% off. (Which Europeans pay their converted equivalent of on GOG.com instead of £30 or €30.) Or Grand Theft Auto 5 on Steam right now for $30, which is 50% off. Or... Well, I could go on all day. The point is, Nintendo better learn their lesson with the Sandwitch. Otherwise, it may flail around badly during holiday sales after the first year, like the Wii U did.
@Fenrir6 Enjoy! It's one of the only Mario games I've bothered to 100% (which is hard to convince me to do) so that's gotta be worth something
is this the first week ever to have absolutely no games on wii u and 3ds?
Just the final nail in the coffin of a year for which a hypothetical year-encompassing "What will you get" poll would come dangerously close to force me to tick the "Nothing for me this year" option.
...On the bright side, it's all uphill from here.
Just give us the full 1st party VC and get a Saturn and Dreamcast VC ready for Switch
Awful week! Good news it's only 15 sleeps til switchmas!
I might buy SMB3 for 3.49euro.
@PlywoodStick Fallout4 & Doom are around €20 on PSN. That's the reason I offloaded more money on PSN in a month than on eshop in a year (I'm a new PS4 owner).
Hahaha. Nintendo lol
What is this??
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy
So Nintendo Selects can get further discounts.
Yoshi's New Island is going from "avoid" to "maybe at 5€".
31.49 euros for Super Mario 3D Land? Really Nintendo?
In the US it has been discounted for 20 bucks for a really long time, it comes bundle with several consoles, so why screw Europeans over that?
It is a great game, but so is GTA V, selling at 30 bucks, or Fallout 4 at 20.
If you still haven't picked up super Mario bros 3 now is a good time as it's heavily discounted😀
Here's to hoping that Nintendo runs a sale on their own games here in NA this week.
Scroogetendo strikes again!
Comparing this to the recent PS4 flash sales shows Nintendo sales are so weak.
When I said VC discounts, I meant more then just the NES Marios.
Me thinking they were hoping Super Mario Run would be another Pokemon Go....
Shin chan somehow seems like the most tempting thing to spend money on. Go figure.
I'm kind of glad that these sales have been so bad, I can save my money and recover from Christmas spending.
My only digital purchase in the Christmas sales was Yakuza 5 at £10.99 for the PS3. Now that's a deal.
@AlexSora89 I can't understand why people hate Yoshi's New Island so much. While I will admit that it wasn't as charming as the SNES original (but then again, nothing ever could be) and the visual style is a little jarring, I had a lot of fun playing it. It's a solid game. If you were a fan of Yoshi's Island or Woolly World, definitely give it a try, especially on a discount.
These sales are mostly irrelevant. They are as irrelevant as My Nintendo sales.
Real sales should be for example: All Virtual Console Mario Games = € 20 • Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze = € 12 • Splatoon = € 15 with 2 DLC's free • Zelda Wind Waker & Twilight Pricess at € 18 and so on.
lol yall always have sorry weeks
so no new games huh? sorry Europe.
Nothing for me this week unfortunately.
Not going to complain too much though as there's been some good stuff on sale the last couple of weeks.
Wow, Merry Xmas Ninty you tight feckers!
@UK-Nintendo Who the hell on a Nintendo fansite hasn't played Super Mario Bros. 3? lol
@thesilverbrick
And I'll give it a try... if it gets discounted.
@ogo79
You don't even know what tact is, do you.
@AlexSora89
i say what i want
Already got everything on this list I'm particularly interested in getting at the moment, and got a handful of games over Christmas, so not really looking to try anything else at the moment... but they do seem to be better value than most of the offers they've been doing lately.
Well, that's an underwhelming discount selection.
Well it was all saved by the awesome My Nintendo Christmas offers at least. Oh wait.....
Nothing for me this week, I would buy an NES Classic Edition if I wanted to play Super Mario Bros. 3 again. Nintendo should learn from the Steam Winter Sale!
For that price I'm definitely getting New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U. Even if I normally prefer getting physical copies of games, I can't let this discount slip by.
Yeah, gotta say the sales aren't that impressive. NSMBU + Luigi for 20 bucks is a good deal. But Mario Kart 7 for 32 is not a good deal for such an old game. As others have said, there is an amazing sale going at the Playstation store. Crossbuy Indiegames for 10 bucks and AAA games that released this year for 20 bucks. I hope Nintendo takes a lesson with the switch.
@PlywoodStick I haven't. Never been a fan of the Mario platformers, especially the 2D ones.
This is very disappointing but I knew it would be. Nintendo, please learn how to have a proper sale.
@PlywoodStick
Your a disgrace.
Nothing for me this week.
@Nintenjoe64 That's the dream dude.
I downloaded Resident Evil 1 and 0 on PS4 for a bundle price of £11.99 - thats better than Nintendo would give us.
If you think you can play New Super Mario Bros. U with just your gamepad and a wii controller, you are going to have a incredible horrible time.
For some goddamreason, what they thought was the best reason ever, you cant play with your gamepad controller and a wii controller to play with two people. You can play singleplayer with the gamepad, but the multiplayer is a big nono.
Big waste of my 20 euro's and I really hope they'll refund my purchase. Because at no point on the productpage does it state that you can't use your gamepad for a 2 player coop game.
