When she's not busy taking down Hydra as Black Widow in the Avengers movies, it seems that talented actress Scarlett Johansson enjoys playing a bit of Mario Kart in her downtime.
In a recent video chat with IGN, Johannson revealed her love of Mario Kart, though we don't know which one is her preferred version. Double Dash? Super Circuit? Mario Kart 8? Who knows. Thankfully she was more specific when pressed about which character was her favourite; she revealed that honour goes to Toad, as he's "so cute". Quite.
Movie fans will doubtless be excited to see Johannson take the role of Major in the upcoming live-action Ghost in the Shell film. We can imagine being a cyborg who leads a futuristic anti-terrorist taskforce can get quite stressful, so chilling out after a hard day with Mario Kart seems like the perfect way to unwind.

aww I'd like to know which one she plays
welp, i didn't though she could get any hotter... i was wrong <3
Now the stalkers have more reason to go through her trash
+1 for the tagline!
I'd like to imagine she's a hardcore retro gamer at heart with a SNES hooked up in every room, ready for a round of Super Mario Kart wherever she is.
But it's most likely Mario Kart Wii/DS she's referring too. Can't really see her having much time to game!
She told me she prefers Mario Kart DS.
Doesn't matter, Nintendo should be calling her up right now and offering her oodles of money to do a Switch MK8 port commercial. Can't recall after seeing her in a commercial but if it's for her favorite game it's worth a shot. Heck get her playing Switch in the next Avengers movie while you're at it, they need to go all out to bounce back from Wii U. I'd mail her the first Switch off the production line to play with all her rich influential celebrity pals. They can't sit on their behind ds this time.
@rjejr And now I'm actually imagining the entire cast of The Avengers sitting in their situation room, playing Mario Kart and Splatoon, until Banner transforms into the Hulk because he loses every time and then the pace of the commercial changes and it is revealed that The Hulk is a new character in the Switch version of Smash Bros. Hulk Smash...
It's got to be Double Dash right?
That's the answer you give when you don't know them well enough to know the difference.
@ThanosReXXX i can totally see that scene and how they transition to introducing Hulk as a smash character!! xD
Oh Scarlett, my love. A woman after my own heart. <3
Yeah, but does she snake?
It could be possible she loves Mario Kart in general and cannot name a favorite. Who knows it is just cool to hear sometimes that Hollywood actors are like normal people when not pretending to save the world from terrorists, Aliens and Hydra
I'm guessing she won't be doing a full frontal nude shot going in and out of being tech cloaked to perform a brutally depicted assassination, then somersaulting from a high rise skyscraper, like the first scene in the original Ghost in the Shell?
....let's not use that joke please...-Joey
Edit: A c'mon! Seriously? The joke literally wrote itself and it was funny. All I did was pretty much bold and cap the starting letter of each word in the subheading. It's nothing more than a bit of harmless innuendo. Does the subheading get censored now for having a double entendre?
She might just mean the SNES original. I'm usually cynical when people name their favourite thing without being specific but this is the most logical answer to me...
@SLIGEACH_EIRE no profanity, not even used in an acronym
(I'm joking)
@Dezzy It's an unfortunate tear, because when a (usually famous) person can't get specific about a series they claim they like, or worse, inaccurately specifies, it feels like they're fronting in an attempt to relate to their fans.
At the same time, no one's obligated to have to prove how much of a nerd/gamer they are.
@ThanosReXXX They could do it after the credits like this scene. Well unless your namesake kills half of them first.
They can't add Hulk into Smash, he doesn't fight with a sword.
That was not a very good interview to be honest. She kinda mumbled and "...I dunno?" 'd her way through all of the really blnd questions.
Mario Kart 64, please
My favorite
@ottospooky The SNES game is named "Super Mario Kart", there's never been a vanilla "Mario Kart"
@rjejr "They can't add Hulk into Smash, he doesn't fight with a sword"
Neither do most of the other characters. And as you may know, Hulk is not impressed by puny human weapons. He just gets angrier...
And playing games on the Switch with greasy shawarma fingers? That's a definite no-go, my friend...
What a classy lady.
@chardir you make a good point, but Ms Johannson may use the colloquial Mario Kart, dropping the 'Super' like a lot of other people.
Another Toad fan? Yayyyyy 😁
I think 8 is her favourite or Double Dash.
Always happy to see a fellow Mario Kart fan, especially a fellow female but...not feeling her GitS travesty.
Boo in the shell would have been funnier 😋👍
Well, at least we can rule out Super Mario Kart.
She says that Mission Mode should return to the series.
"My favourite game is the Final Fantasy with the one-eyed samurai man"
I'm looking forward to ghost in the shell. Don't get me wrong - Scarjo has a beautiful face and great figure but, I don't know, she just seems too short to play major. Seems nit-picky, but it stands out in the scenes shown in the preview where they try to replicate the anime frame for frame. Particularly the beginning scene where she crashes through the window and somersaults through the room shooting everybody. Still looking forward to it.
Looking at her, I'd say her favorite Mario Kart is DD
Is This the lady that people are angry at? Being involved in Hollywood's latest white washing of an Asian characters?
@Funky_Kong Ah, but does the victim's brains splatter all over the wall behind him and run down them, like in the animated version?
