Way back when Pokémon Sun and Moon had their full unveiling - through full commercials after an initial tease weeks earlier - we saw different marketing approaches. The Western reveal trailers featured familiar music and lots of clips of the game, while in Japan there was a video with a short narrative.
We rather liked the latter, as it showed a young Japanese boy trying to make friends in a new country. Now The Pokémon Company has localised an extended version of that trailer as the "first mini episode" of a "special series". Naturally that means more of the rather charming young star that this writer often uses as a lead image when trying to avoid spoilers.
Check out the first episode below.
We'll be keeping an eye out for episode 2; until then, Train On.

It's really awesome how Pokemon brings people together and starts friendships. People who bash it either haven't played it or haven't given it enough of a chance. The areas, the bonds, the collecting. It's all great. It's been a long time and I'm glad I decided on dusting my dads old yellow off(whom he never played) 11 years ago. It's been a great ride and hopefully more years to come!
MeowMeowMeow! Just need info plz not localized trails Nintendo!
"Charm is super effective."
Or for me:
"Cheese is not very effective."
The Japanese trailers with live action have generally been cheesy and cringe-worthy.
This trailer well illustrates how Pokemon helps bring others together. I spent many long bus rides (I lived in the country) playing Pokemon and trading with other kids. Though now, it's a lot easier with wireless communication and the GTS. Not everyone had a link cable in the 90s. XD
The beauty of Pokémon!!!!

I don't think so. It called unique. Maybe for Western audience, something unique from Japan are cheesy and cringe-worthy. So does with Japanese that sometimes treated some Western stuffs are cheesy, boring and cring-worthy too. It looks like Fire doesn't like Water and Water doesn't like Fire.

RIP Popplio
Really going for the feels.
I love these "anti-mmo" videos of Pokémon.
