With Pokémon in its 20th Anniversary year we've been getting one Mythical Pokémon every month for the current-gen games, each available for a few weeks.
This month's offering is Victini, which is available until 24th September through the Nintendo Network; it originally appeared in Pokémon Black and White. It's level 100 in this distribution, and can be received through the usual routine of selecting 'Receive Gift' and then 'Get Via Internet'; then you seal the deal by speaking to the Delivery Girl in a Pokémon Center. Details screengrabbed from the official website are below.

You can grab this for X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and there's a trailer below showcasing other goodies released this month.
Also of interest for Trainers in Europe and Australia is a second chance to get May's Mythical Pokémon, Darkrai. It was distributed through stores at the time, but can now be picked up with code DARKRAI2016 until 30th September. It's the same 'mon, so if you have it already there's no need to use the code.

Will you be grabbing this Victini? Let us know in the comments.

Why on earth does this Victini not have V-Create?
Who here has been keeping up with the Year of Pokémon?
I know that I definitely have.
I would care a lot more if it had v create
Good! I'm not winning with Nintendo, that's for sure!
My copy of White with Victini was lost long ago...
I'm glad to team up with Victini once again.
I just got Omega Ruby, so I'll be happy to get this guy!
It really should have V-Create.
So I have to go to Gamestop to get this correct?
Don't forget, North America also gets a second chance to nab Darkrai through the Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter later this month!
@16bitdave just go to mystery gift and download it
So we'll likely be seeing Arceus again around December and Genesect around March. However I won't be leaving Genesect to chance, I'll be getting as many codes as I can.
@Tyranexx really? Nice thanks for the info
@Mr_Zurkon: No prob!
This'll make a nice treat for my son when he gets home from school tomorrow. Awesome.
Victini needs V-create
Already grabbed Victini. Darkrai reprise is good news, but my version of the site still doesn't mention the code. Which kinda leaves me concerned - were there also Celebi and Jiraichi reprises I've missed? Mew I at least missed because I got my 3DS on June 29 and didn't learn of the campaign until a couple days later. But missing more chances would be damn careless of me.
Nice but not as good as GameStop giving me 13 Mew codes and 18 Darkrai codes;)
@InternetBowser Do a living Dex and you will only have to get the new Pokemon next Gen and on. I had to do it a 2nd time because my game got corrupt last gen and just recently got back into Pokemon after awhile.
@Palkia thanks
@Pink_Floyd
Actually, this is better, Europe has had access to essentially unlimited Hoopa, Mew and Darkrai codes. You also don't need to go through all the fuss of scratching off a code because they're all the same.
can it learn V-create?
@shaneoh In my country they print the codes on paper, one per person and usually if you show the game :U
Or they give them away in Facebook events - first come, first served.
Edit: whoops, replied to wrong person. I meant @Pink_Floyd
@KTT
That's seriously wrong, particularly if they can print out as many codes as they like.
@DualWielding : Sadly, no. V-Create is an event-exclusive move.
@InternetBowser : Crickey, ain't that the truth. It's bloody awkward as hell standing around trying to download them 'pokes as discreetly as possible without the intent of actually buying anything.
@shaneoh Sorry for the confusion, I meant to reply to the other person ^^'
But I'll explain it more. There are few gaming related shops, and they usualy are small local shops with various second hand items.
Only supported by Czech distributor shops get limited amount of codes for printing. And each code is one per person (they remember who got a code - it's quite local). The codes are limited and the workers express that and they fuss about even if you have 2 games with you.
I think they removed the leaflets because there was... black market of codes, I guess? Or because printing and shipping the leaflets costed too much? I would have to ask some guys around to confirm that tho.
So with Darkrai if I use the code with a copy of the game that I already have it on I won't get a second one? Picked up Victini yesterday, so now all I need is Keldeo, Genesect and Meloetta and I've got 720!
I went ahead and redeemed that second Darkrai. I'll be able to trade it for something on the GTS all the same.
I missed Manaphy Don't suppose there is a code for that?
@shaneoh For Hoopa I don't know, I had that one just once printed on paper. But for Mew, Darkrai, and Arceus I got 3 codes for each and they were all different and usable only once. At least the codes you get over WiFi through a participating Nintendo Zone hotspot.
Also, these event Pokémon all have different IV's (but always 3 random ones at 31) that are likely generated by your own game the moment the event is downloaded through Mystery Gift. So you may get a good one or a bad one, I don't know if it's possible to get a shiny one, though I don't think it is.
And hmm, this Victini doesn't have V-create and I don't think it can be learned even by the Move Reminder. Nice to have a legit Victini to play with, but too bad it misses it's signature move.
I just picked up a new 3ds yesterday in preparation for Sun/Moon (along with a copy of Alpha Sapphire) so getting Victini right off the bat is great!
Darkrai, the pokémon personification of nightmares, appearing at the end of the summer holidays. Appropriate feelings for the everyday secondary school student.
@oceano Thanks for reminding me to make a pre-order
If you're in Europe you can also grab a Meowth with the code HAPPY.
@Slaz Everything about these Pokémon is set when you get them from the delivery girl so by saving right in front of her you can reset for good natures/IVs as much as you want. They indeed do have at least three perfect IVs which does help quite a bit.
Shinies really are definitely impossible however.
(I need Hoopa sob)
@KTT
I noticed your edit, but the situation you described felt so bizarre that I wanted to comment on it. Still, now that you've elaborated, I can see some logic to it, but it's still a stupid situation to be in
@Slaz
Yeah the codes are different on the cards, however when they redistributed Hoopa, Mew and Darkrai in Europe several months down the track, it was a single code to get them (HOOPA2016, MEW2016, DARKRAI2016), so as long as people in Europe were willing to reset their games we had access to unlimited quantities of those 'mon.
my bb
Hoopa damn you... i realised the second chance one or 2 days after...
I wonder if they give us Arceus in December ARCEUS2016.
Who know.
Looks like a poor man's Victini. Why can't it get V-create? Not having access to Fusion Bolt stinks too.
@shaneoh Yeah, it's a bit weird here, but no worries. We all are used to it here
I'm happy that we have any Nintendo support.
