We're still crossing our fingers for a 2017 localisation of Monster Hunter Stories to the West, but while we wait there's plenty to see from the marketing for its October release in Japan. During Tokyo Game Show, Capcom has been showing the game off and announcing new crossover content.
First of all, below is a new extended trailer showing off the game in general, which is full of drama as expected.
Beyond that three new cross-overs have been announced. First up is one for Chibi Maruko-chan, which is a hugely popular Shōjo manga series in the country; it perhaps demonstrates how this title is aiming to broaden the potential audience for the Monster Hunter series.
Next up is Puzzle & Dragons, which is no surprise as that's an IP that's hugely popular (particularly in Japan) on smart devices and also 3DS.
Finally, there's a collaboration with The Kumamoto Project, which is a charitable organisation.
Plenty of Monster Hunter Stories footage there - let us know what you think, and be sure to check out our first impressions of the game from some demo time at Tokyo Game Show.

Man really hoping to see this game hit the West!
Oh my! o_o Chibi Maruko-chan! haha
I am highly confident that this game will be localized, although it may lose some of its cross-over content.
@RatKing64 But it may gain something we really want.
This would be a day one for me. Rpgs and Monster Hunter were made for each other. That or they're just 2 of my favorite types of games.
Gosh...!
3 crossover. Completely insane.
Let's see my comments so far...
Monster Hunter Stories : Gosh...! The graphic looked so insane crisp on my Wii U pad.
Chibi Maruko chan : What ?! LOL LOL LOL XD
Btw, Naoki Maeda (former DDR songs composer) now is working with Capcom. He should create the Remix of Odoru Pompokolin or new Songs for Monster Hunter Stories.
Puzzle Dragon : Eh... not really impressed.
Kumamoto : Gosh...! Was that an Evolved version of Kumamoto ?
This is the first time that I'm really excited for a Monster Hunter title can't wait to play this game looks amazing..
I love the fact they're collaborating with a charity. Imagine if Nintendo did this with endangered animal charities in Animal Crossing?
This game looks so good I NEED it. The Puzzle and Dragons monster looks really good.
I'll care when they release it in the west (don't want to get my hopes up).
Please Capcom! I want to give you my money for this game (in a language I can understand and play on my 3DS)!
This looks great and the amiibo to go with it are impressive, the best-looking ones so far.
