The latest trailer for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens has just hit the web, and it goes into detail regarding some of the all-new content that will be featured in the game.
Six new missions are showcased which augment the storyline seen in the movie:
- Rathtar Hunting – Follows Han Solo and Chewbacca's voyage to capture the ravenous Rathtars.
- Lor San Tekka's Return – Uncovers secrets behind Lor San Tekka's journey to the Jakku Village.
- Poe to the Rescue – Details Poe Dameron's daring rescue mission to save Admiral Ackbar.
- Crimson Corsair– Explores how the notorious Outer Rim pirate, the Crimson Corsair, foiled the plans of the First Order.
- Trouble Over Taul– Follows the events leading up C-3PO's acquisition of his new red arm.
- Ottegan Assault– Reveals a puzzle piece to how the Resistance and the First Order find Lor San Tekka on Jakku.
The inclusion of more Admiral Ackbar pretty much makes this a day one purchase for us, but the good news doesn't end there - the developers have enlisted the likes of Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa), Daisy Ridley (Rey), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), John Boyega (Finn), Max von Sydow (Lor San Tekka) and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) to record brand new dialogue exclusively for the game. Hearing Ford utter the phrase "Wookie Cookies" might be worth the price of admission alone.
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives on the Wii U and 3DS on June 28th.

YAY! THIS LOOKS AWESOME!
Looks quality I'm not a big Lego games fan but I'll definitely check this out.
I'm just now finishing up 100%ing Batman 3, so I'm about ready for this one!
I think I still have Batman 3 to 100%... although, I'll probably get Lego Movie and Jurassic Park first and wait till the end of the year for this. Lego games are getting more expensive, but they still get sales pretty quickly (on Steam, especially).
Plus I havn't seen the movie yet anyway, so yeah.
EDIT: Forgot about Lego Avengers.
Just curious, does anybody know the next Lego game due out after this one? Seems like they always have 1 coming out and 2 more down the road but Google is coming up empty for me.
@rjejr Might be a game inspired by the Star Wars: Rogue One spin-off that will be arriving soon or perhaps some Marvel games? Captain America, Dr. Strange, you name it. Or they could go the DC route and do a Superman vs Batman game...
Hearing that they got the actors to provide voices really makes me feel confident in the quality of this game
@ThanosReXXX Been having this conversation w/ CaptainGonru somewhere.
CA:CW is already DLC in Lego Avengers.
http://screenrant.com/lego-marvel-avengers-civil-war-ant-man-dlc/
2 Justice League movies due out in 2017 and 2018, Lego game will probably coincide w/ the 2nd one.

Rogue One I would guess would be DLC for this game when that movie releases or next winter - Q1.
I've always liked Dr. Strange, but I don't think he's worthy of a Lego game. Maybe part of the Infinity Wars movies in a few years? Or GotG Vol 2? Or Thor:Ragnarok? But not this year.
Just can't imagine a holiday w/o one. I'm sure they'll announce it at E3, just seems weird there isn't one out there yet.
My vote is Kiss Meets Scooby Doo. I want a giant flying guitar rocketship Lego toy to build.

Giant Modok/Galactus/Darkseid head Lego toy would be cool too.

My money is on TMNT, though I've been saying that for about 5 years running now.
Too bad Erik Bauersfeld smoked his last back in April - maybe this was the last voice work he did (assuming that it is him as Ackbar in this). Legend.
Oh... and Wookie Cookies
@rjejr Couple more weeks and the Superman movie is out on disc, so why wait until 2017? Seems more logical to me to make a game based on the first two movies. They can then add the third movie as DLC later. Justice League will probably be a separate franchise.
A Scooby Doo game could be fun, but why? Any movie or animation film has been ages ago, so there's literally no reason to make one. And as for KISS, who except guys like us (or guys our age) would know and appreciate them?
If you want a KISS game, you could always go and play Psycho Circus...
Then again: they might incorporate them into the Guardians of the Galaxy universe, since they did have a Marvel comic once. Would be fun to see them making some reference to that somewhere in some future Marvel movie...
And a Darkseid toy? DARKSEID? That pretender? I'm insulted...
Turtles is never going to happen: lousy (no, abysmal) reboot, no story. Unless they use the original stories and animated series.
Have they cut the 2 main characters out?
..May the 4th be with you!!...
Can't wait, though I hope it's not a DLC fest like the Avengers...
Rest in peace admiral (Erik Bauersfield) I loved you in star wars may you see happy life in a galaxy far far away!
@AG_Awesome it's not like it is that expensive. £7.99 for 8 packs (including both level and character packs and just character packs)
Wow, surprised they managed to get Harrison Ford to voice extra stuff for this. Guess that means Wookie Cookies are cannon?
@ThanosReXXX "Scooby Doo game could be fun, but why? Any movie or animation film has been ages ago, so there's literally no reason to make one. "
Um, we must have a different idea of "ages ago" b/c that Scooby Doo and Kiss movie is only 10 months old, it's from last July, 2015.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scooby-Doo!_and_Kiss:_Rock_and_Roll_Mystery
The KISS movie is out later this month. Once a kid in Satan's service, always a kid in Satan's service, KISS nation will never die.

And I said Darkseid rather than Thanos b/c I didn't want to insult you, it's obviously Thanos head in Galactus' helmet.
There have already been 3 Lego Batman games, do they really need a 4th? Well of course they do, but I'm hoping for something new. I just finished Injustice, good story mode, so I'm good.
Guardians is next May, so that could be a gimme. KISS in there would be cool.
I want to see a new LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean game to come out with the new movie next year.
Also LEGO Scooby-Doo has been my dream game for a long long time. LEGO Dimensions doesn't count; I want a full LEGO Scooby-Doo game.
@rjejr Aha, there's the answer then: that was straight to video and Stateside only, so I'm going to forgive myself for not knowing that.
Either way, I don't think it's a good match with the LEGO universe, but stranger things have happened...
Obviously I wasn't really insulted, just pulling your leg. Not to hard though, wouldn't want to injure you...
And we might not see KISS in the Guardians 2 (just a bit of daydreaming on my part there), but who knows what else is on those cassette tapes from the mighty Star Lord?
@rjejr What would they base a TMNT Lego game on, though? The 80's-90's cartoon series? The old live action movie trilogy? The new mediocre live action films? The current Nickelodeon cartoon series? Just a consolidation of the entire franchise like they did with "Marvel Super Heroes"? I can see them alienating a lot of fans no matter which way they would choose to go.
Personally, I want to see them do a "Lego Back to the Future" game. It's too bad they've already missed the perfect timing (October 2015) for such a release, though.
@BulbasaurusRex "The new mediocre live action films?"
Well I was thinking that one, yeah, w/ the new movie coming out in June, as far as I can tell it's a sequel to the last mediocre movie. The last 3 Pirates movies were mediocre and they got a game. Megan Fox needs to be in Lego for, maybe throw in her Transformers car outfits. Still don't know how we've had 4 or 5 Transformers movies now w/ no Lego game, though there have been plenty of other Transformers games the past few years.
My kids and I have wanted How to Train your Dragon for awhile now, it's still an ongoing series on Netflix and a 3rd movie is due out eventually. The last HtTYD game was the worst piece of dreck I've ever played, all you did was race around an island, pure shovelware. But between dragon flying and on foot encounters w/ the other viking hordes we think it could make for a good Lego game. The only real downside is the limited number of known players, maybe a dozen heroes and half that for villains. Tough there are a number of dragons too. The Steam "early access" Lego game has a pretty cool dragon in it.
So basically my kids and I follow all the Lego games and we are always interested in what the next one will be. I'd be shocked if they stopped now.
I somehow doubt Harrison Ford's voiceover dialog for a Lego game will be particularly well delivered.
@ThanosReXXX I think all the Scooby Doo movies are straight to video, they just keep churning them out.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scooby-Doo
And new series too. This one is currently on-going. Probably why it's in Lego Dimensions.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Be_Cool,_Scooby-Doo!
KISS is just KISS. the Destroyer cover alone made them immortal. 40 years ago. FORTY YEARS!! I'd make it my avatar but it's too happy for me.
@rjejr Well, we did get the first two live action movies over here, but after that I haven't heard from the old Scoobster anymore, which is why I responded like I did.
As for KISS: I used to be able to imitate Paul Stanley's singing voice (yep, I sing. Another secret revealed.. ) and can still do a pretty decent one now, save for the high notes, which I lost when my voice grew lower and something else grew lower...
@rjejr Too bad Paul & Gene destroyed the legacy. Tommy & Eric impersonating Ace & Peter is just f*cked up!
@Spideron That's just the way rock n roll is sadly. Nothing will ever be worse than Van Hagar, and I grew up a Steel Dragon, I mean Judas Priest, fan. Brian Johnson succeeded, but after Bon died Angus made it his. Verdict is still out on Axl, but what's a sick man to do, at least they are trying to fulfill their concert obligations, and as I said, it's all about Angus anyway.
As for KISS, I'd rather just play the album, 60 year old men singing the music of 20 year olds is never the same. Can't be. Same for all the rest, Stones, Who, whoever. Let it go. Dylan's ok, he was born a 60 year old man.
@rjejr Yeah, guess so. Just wish they'd given them their own personas like Erics 'Fox' and Vinnies 'Ankh Warrior'. Ace will always be the Spaceman for me - the true rock heart of Kiss.
@ThanosReXXX I doubt Stanley can hit them either.
@Spideron You know, that's a really good point. Why not come up with new characters for the new guys? I guess in the future KISS will be a revolving boy cover band of all new people singing the same old songs wearing different make-up to sell more merchandise? I never watched Futurama but thats probably in there somewhere.
OK, now I'm depressed.
@rjejr Not anymore, I guess, unless someone kicks him in the SPF...
Now I'm depressed too. I think I'm going to watch some episodes of "That 70's show" now, just to lift my spirits.
In all honesty, I was already a bit annoyed by being called out in the two topics about that weird new developer's handheld, so this is on top of that.
I sometimes wish I really was my avatar. Just one flick of the wrist and >poof!< annoying people, be gone...
Wookiee cookies, why did it have to be wookiee cookies?
I bet Harrison Ford enjoyed recording that dialogue.
@ThanosReXXX Sorry to contribute to your annoyance. On the bright side, Kiss and Scooby Doo, what's not to like.
I avoided that handheld thread, knew no good could come of it. I had my own problems on PushSquare where they are trying to promote episodic gaming, which I want no part of. Wondering if a game will finish releasing before I die is too depressing.
This is looking surprisingly great, much better than I was giving it credit for when I first heard about it. I just wish TT would dust off Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 (Just 2 would be enough really) and update them because trying to play those games now is an absolute chore.
Anyone else miss when characters in Lego games didn't talk? It made the games more charming imo.
@rjejr True. Both good memories from my youth. And I wish I had read that advice before I jumped in, but yeah, you know: mad Titan and all... (I'm a Taurus, so I'm not that different from a mad Titan)
Agreed on episodic gaming. I do have some of them (The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones) but I only go for them if I'm pretty sure that the story will be completed, such as The Walking Dead was, which is now released as a bundle.
And seeing how popular Game of Thrones is, I'm pretty sure they'll be able to wrap up that story too. Besides these two exceptions I do agree with you.
I still have the DVD here begging to be watched, once I've seen it I'll probably get the game as that trailer was pretty good.
But will the game be open world?
