Pocket Card Jockey has been out for quite some time in Japan, but was just recently - during the March Nintendo Direct - confirmed for a May arrival in North America. Nintendo of Europe kept quiet, but has now confirmed that a demo will arrive this week in the Download Update, and that the full game will hit the region on 5th May.
It seems a reasonable bet that the release date will be the same in North America, but that's not been confirmed.
As for what the game is, it was developed by a small team at Game Freak; rather like HarmoKnight it began as a side-project for staff, as part of an initiative to encourage the studio's employees to work on new ideas. It blends Solitaire, horse racing and some RPG elements, as you can see in the Direct reveal below.
Are any of you in Europe planning to try out the demo this week? Let us know.

sweet!
I'll defo give the demo ago.
Looks interesting. I like the Japanese crazy horse racing game or crazy card game, and to see a combo I have to try it.
Seems like something Kairosoft would make, and Nintendo needs more games like that.
I'll try it, but I currently doubt it'll persuade me to buy the game.
Yes! I love weird stuff and I don't mind solitaire (the one included in Clubhouse Games is excellent... and while I'm mentioning it... why hasn't there been a sequel to this excellent piece of software on 3DS?).
Lol, well we can not say Game Freak doesn't try different things. It'll probably be pretty good actually. I know the premise doesn't sound like much, but there's gotta be a simple hook to it.
Excited for this.
...and awaaaay they Go!....
Woot, excited for this! I'm glad we're sort of getting a few more unusuals like this.
Alright, I thought this game was going to be lost forever. I love creative card games
if it comes to NA ill get it for sure... looks quirky and fun
Been excited for this since it's announcement. It'll be great.
