Earlier today we hosted a livestream where we looked at Pokkén Tournament's various features. If you weren't around for that then fret not, for we've archived the whole thing and slapped it up on our YouTube channel for you all to enjoy on demand.
We look at the raw combat with stammering commentary, avatar customisation whilst mumbling something supposedly related, and the Ferrum League as this writer stumbles over his words.

Looking forwards to this! Or... my kids are!
The game is looking really good, I know I'm going to get addicted to it. I'm really curious if they will add more characters to fill the 4 spots where there could be characters (perhaps as DLC, hopefully it would be free). Regardless, I'm very excited for this game!
Hopefully those 4 ''missing fighters'' in the roster are eventually filled by DLC or unlockables that are super secret. That'd be great!
Very excited for this now, looking great!
This game looks splendid.
Wow an actual fighting game without a Season Pass, does have substantial single-player content and not something we've seen more than 10 versions of already. All it needs is a stable online and Nintendo surely bag 'Fighting Game of the Year' for the second time in 3 years, though considering the standards set by Street Fighter V it isn't saying a lot.
Really excited for this! Just wish the roster was a little more, I guess I've been spoiled a bit by Smash's giant roster but even with that in mind it feels a bit bare bones. Free updates is obviously ideal but I'd take some paid DLC too. But everyone there looks amazing from what I've seen!
Very curious about the support Pokémon. They seem immensely varied in power. I mean Yvetal to Magikarp? You can't get much of a bigger gap so how they're balanced has me very curious! Though I'm assuming Magikarp is still a joke Pokémon
The more I see, the more I'm hyped, which makes all these restrictions on videos very ironic; are they worried I could get too hyped and definitly buy the game? XD
Garchomp's "Faintality" looks a bit under powered. Hopefully it will get a buff.
This plus an open world roaming system would be all I've ever dreamed of in a Pokemon game.
Aside from the rather modest roster (although those four empty spaces just SCREAM DLC), everything else seems legitimately awesome. I'm starting to think this is one of the WiiU's must-have games.
Well, with Street Fighter V leaving me disappointed on an astronomic scale, my fighting game hype has shifted to this, which wasn't really on my radar before.
I must admit though, it looks flipping fantastic...
So a Pokemon fighting game has a chandelier pokemon, but it doesn't have Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee?
@Ralizah Those guys are overrated
I can tell already that this is gonna be much better game then Street Fighter V. My god I should have waited to purchase it
Anyway I do hope they at least expand the roster more. Lopunny,Goodra, Poliwrath,Mr Mime,Dragonnite, most fighting types. There are plenty of others I can name but you get the point.
@JaxonH Oh another person who bought SFV at launch like me. Have you been able to play online lately? Cause I can't.
I love Alex vids lol
MARCH!!!!!!
Just please incude a bug Pokémon somehow. The only thing that worries me about that is that Scizor is probably the most popular bug-type, but it never looked that cool to me. Give me a Pinsir, a Venomoth, or a Vespiquen and we're set.
Roster seems far too small, and is missing loads of popular Pokemon that would fit in well (where the hell are the Hitmons??)
Despite that, the game looks really fun. I hope we get DLC (or maybe a "Super" version) to beef up the content a little more.
16 characters, exactly the same as SFV. Rounding it out to 20 would be nice.
This game looks fantastic. I'm not much of a fighting game fan myself, but I'm a huge sucker for Pokemon. I'll probably get this day one
Can't wait.
So based on this video The Ferrum League is indeed just matches against different difficulties of AI opponents and there is no story in Pokken Tournament.
Out of curiosity, is the Japanese voice for the commentator an option in the options of the English version?
Not a fan of Pokemon whatsoever, never have been, never will be. Having said that, the colour, the art style, the OTT gameplay and the Tekken style fighting system is very much luring me in for a day one purchase. If I can mash some buttons, pull off some OTT crazy looking colourful moves, then it seems like a pretty good game to me
p.s with the exception of it obviously being in HD, does anyone else think that this game screams that it looks like it belongs on a Saturn or Dreamcast (in a good way)?
The game is looking great, I know I'm going to get addicted to it and will not stop playing it
