Xenoblade Chronicles X is creeping ever closer to a Western release, which is terrific news for Wii U owners that admire Monolith Soft and its enormous RPG projects. With potentially hundreds of hours of content and what appears to be quite staggering depth, many are likely to be playing it into 2016.
Nintendo has been building some anticipation with a Survival Guide video series, with a fresh entry outlining various intricacies and options in combat. It's evidently a step up even from the hefty Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii.
Checking back we seem to have neglected to post part one when it arrived, so our apologies and that's also below if you need to catch up.
Are you excited about this one's arrival in December?

I remember watching these the first time and not knowing what was said. In English though it explains a lot. I did not know the system got really complicated. It still is the same system from the other game just greatly expanded. And if robots this may take a hour or three for me to get used to it in December.
The game can't come soon enough.
"quite staggering depth"
Played the first game for about 150 hours, a dozen or so after finishing the main story line, and it wasn't until after my kids watched a lets play on Youtube that I found out you could "gift" items to other members to build up your affection. So I can only imagine what will b egoing on in this game with the addition of the skells.
Oh, and I wont 'be playing this until 2016, collectors ed is my Christmas gift, but I expect it to take up most of my gaming time for the first 3 or 4 months. Even if Zelda, Starfox or even Uncharted 4 released (glad the latter didn't gives me more time to wait to buy a PS4). So I won't be watching any of these videos, and my kids won't be watching any let's play until I'm done. Actually it's possible both my kids play this one themselves, possibly sharing a save point. I'll be waiting until they're asleep for my turn.
... I need this game in my life right now.
I'll be playing this after Christmas. I expect to devote at least two months to this game.
To think that this game was revealed 2 and half years ago. Finally this is coming out.
I really need this game.
@Captain_Gonru I think it comes out on a Friday, call in sick, get some Red Bull, and you can get in about 72 hours before Monday.
December can't come soon enough!
I think its bullshit we got a wait til November for this game, while the Japanese already played it and left it on their shelves to collect dust.
I need this game. I can't wait for December to come!
Funny how I did not care for this game at all when it was first announced, but then I played the 3DS version of the first game and now I can't wait for this one. xD
Excited? Pre-ordered the Special Edition. Yes I am excited.
The biggest game of 2015 and will remain so in 2016!
@rjejr I didn't know you could gift items until I read your post. Now I'm going to have to go home and try that.
@bmjy1000 well they had to translate it.......bro
Yeah, Nintendo Life, I was so disappointed that y'all didn't report on the 1st episode. I was wondering what was going on.
still a little excited for this game though I still have resentment for having to wait a year after Japan to play it and I'm sure it will sell better here than in Japan not sure why Nintendo made us all wait a year .
@Samuel-Flutter I've never actually done it, or watched that video, but I think if you click on an item in your inventory if gives you the option. Let me know how it goes.
Gifting isnt that useful unless you ihave a ton of one item you dont need to sell for money. You have to do new game plus to have the best weapon in the game and my party had their affinity maxed by then.
I dont blame you guys for forgetting even though that mechanic was in the tutorial. I love that xenoblade pretty much told you everything abouf how the game worked and there was just so darn much. It was amazingly but not mind numbingly intricate. Pokemon is still harder to grasp for most people.
@Will-75 Localization, it takes a lot of time, especially with RPGs.
Remember how long it took for Shovel Knight to come to europe ? And thats not really a text heavy game.
On top of that, its one of Nintendos major flagship titles, im pretty sure they are taking extra care so that the translation is as flawless as it can get.
And on top of that they need to get the infrastructure running, siince the game has online components. They need to set up regional servers, test them properly, set the day one extra install files into motion.
Although a year seems like a lot of time, its a rather short time for a game of that scale.
The older I get, the shorter my attention span in gaming becomes. I'm not interested in XCX simply because how large the scope of the game is. However, I am very excited for my fellow WiiU gamers that have been waiting for this game for so long. I hope it exceeds all of your expectations.
I couldn't play XC for Wii, so I'm excited to try out XCX, though I won't have a lot of time to play due to my mandatory internship... Still, this series of videos helps a lot to understand XCX!
I'm going to agree that the narrator of these videos doesn't work for me in the least. The actual content of episode 1 and this one, though, is superb and I'm counting the hours until release.
This game is looking pretty complicated... I love it. Shame there is no way I'll be able to afford it day one though.
@Captain_Gonru No Man's Sky, the Duke Nukem Forever of the indie scene.
I am super hyped for this game. I have been listening to the soundtrack and it has been phenomenal and now watching these videos has got me even more excited! Love the huge world, classes and improvements over Xenoblade Chronicles. Day 1 Purchase for me definitely.
My whole winter vacation will have to be dedicated to Xenoblade X
This one doesn't seem that complicated from what I watced before. I shoukd be fine with the in-game tutorials and what I already know...I guess. I'll probably watch these videos later though...why did I even comment on this article? Whatever.
Even in English, this game never ceases to confuse me.
Also, tags... Dinosaurs? lol
Can't wait for this!
@rjejr Yeah you totally can. It has to be a collectipedia item though. Maybe that will be an easier way to raise people's affinities, than running around fighting battles and encouraging teammates in parties that don't particularly have good setups.
so I am curious, does this game have a main overarching story like the original Xenoblade or is this just Elder Scrolls in space? not that the elder scrolls games aren't good, but they generally boil down to a series of unconnected missions that serve to extend game time? I really liked the story of the original and all I have seen and heard of this one is just game play and the different factions missions. is there a main story other than humanity is running from some baddie?
After listening to the OST...I need it to be December like in two weeks. THIS is my holiday game... I think Fallout 4 is going to get put away once this comes out.
@Samuel-Flutter I kind of ignored most of the game. I did about 80% of the collectopedia, and a few heart to hearts, but I only ever played as Shulk w/ Reyn and Rikki, so no affinity for me. I did most of the side quests in order to level up, always trying to keep 3 or 4 levels above the standard enemies, but crafting was too much work for too little reward. It was crazy how much they put into that game, and w/ that unbelievably great story they really didn't need about half of it. Glad it worked for you though.
@Captain_Gonru No Man's Sky? No, but I have been interested in the game since day 1, which seems about 3 years ago now. Spore, but good. Will never live up to the hype at this point but Ill probably play it. Maybe.
Live streaming this day one !
