Occasionally amiibo figures are only available within game bundles, either for a limited period or - potentially - as a permanent arrangement. Naturally this doesn't suit everyone, so Nintendo of America is un-bundling one toy for its own release.
On this occasion it's the small green Yarn Yoshi, which has been bundled with copies of Yoshi's Woolly World following its recent release in North America. The blue and pink variations are already available separately, while the Mega Yarn Yoshi will be a Toys "R" Us exclusive from 15th November. It seems that the small green Yoshi will beat the Mega equivalent to stores, and there's no suggestion that it'll be a retailer exclusive.
It's certainly one for collectors to target, and these yarn amiibo are surely among the most desirable in the range.
Are any of you in North America tempted by this, or will you be splashing the case on a Mega Yoshi?

I've yet to see pink ones in the wild, but I did manage to find a blue one at a small town walmart. I would love to get the green one if I'm able to find it.
@Captain_Gonru Lack of intetest, or lack of knowledge? I know the game has a demo on the kiosk in Target, but it just feels lacking. Which is really weird b/c it actually had sales ads for both Target and Best Buy along with sales on Wii U. Maybe people just expect Yoshi on handhelds? Or the Lego D, Skylanders and DI trifecta just ate it's lunch? Or people are still busy playing SMM? Just feels like the game either came out in June like it did in EU or got delayed until next year like Starfox. I'm not expecting it to be a big sell or in this month's NPD.
I bought the bundle day 1, seemed worth it for an extra $10 when the amiibo is going for $17. My kids have played it, but I'm waiting to start until after the World Series. And I have been playing DI3.0 with my wife.
Darn I just spent $28 yesterday for one of these.
I don't buy Amiibo anymore when they cost $16. Heck, the Giant Yoshi is the cost of a game.
here in canada it's 19.99 for the yarn ones and 15.99 for the regular ones. I don't think it's that big of a deal. it's made of yarn so of course it's going to be more expensive.
I got the Yoshi bundle on launch day, but I still think it's good that Nintendo is releasing the green yoshi separately.
I must be going crazy but I could swear my Target had standalone greens behind a case when I went to get my pink & blue ones. I didn't ask about it since I had the bundle preordered at Gamestop.
I've seen pink in the wild quite a few times now. Even at Gamestops.
I'd be all over for this if I hadn't gotten the bundle on launch day.
@Captain_Gonru No off-tv play during the Met games, I don't want to throw my Gamepad thru the tv. I did play Steamworld Dig during the KC-Toronto game. Well maybe just during the rain delay.
You are right about the amiibo. My little Target didn't have any but my big Target did. (Did I ever tell you there are 10 Targets w/in 15 miles of my house? I may yet work at 1 someday, but waiting online always depresses me.)

I wonder if the yarn body threw off the scalpers? Or the $16.99 price? Maybe they are all lined up at TRU waiting for the big one? Or maybe it's possible Nintendo got something right? I've always thought the game delay was to allow them to make more yarn Yoshi amiibo so maybe it worked? Had to happen 1 of these days.
That would be great, if you couldn't already find green yoshis previous releases still kickin around in stores, and people are probably more interested in the blues and pinks anyway.
Got my green Yoshi with the bundle. It's really only $10 that way since the game alone costs $50.
My local Walmart only had the pink yarn Yoshi's, which was a bit disappointing because I thought the blue version looked like the most adorable out of all of them. I got it anyway though :3
I got my blue yarn bab so I'm good.
They need to do this for the green squid for splatoon. I have the inkling boy and girl cause that was all I could find. Now I'm seeing the 3 pack but cant spend 45$ just to get the green squid.
