Splatoon has plenty of strengths, with the cool music undoubtedly adding a great deal to its charm; the soundtrack is even expanded on occasion with free updates. Now Nintendo, as it has done with terrific music for the likes of Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D Land, has released a video showing the talented musicians that make it all possible.
It's a young band for these tracks, with some particularly impressive hair, hats and musical skill on show. Somewhat awesomely we also see the two singers whose vocals are heavily edited for the Squid Sisters, Callie and Marie. All concerned seemed to love recording this music, and we don't blame them one bit.
You can check this out below, so find a pair of headphones and hit play.

Now that looks splawesome, and must be very enjoyable! The music is absolutely fantastic, and most of the tracks have been stuck in my head since day one! I might even try to learn some of the tracks from Splatoon on my guitar and then play along with the music!
Can someone give my a link to the youtube video page please, this embedded video isn't working for me for some reason.
So these lovely women are the real squid sisters, huh. I'd take them over Callie and Marie ;D

I wish this video was way longer. Great stuff.
@TheTeaStirrer Cheers this is awesome!
That's so cool! I had no idea they used actual real music and singers for this, pretty great how Nintendo seem to be doing that a lot in recent years!
It's always so fun to watch musicians and singers having so much fun creating such awesome and fun music! (Did I mention this video is fun?)
Awesome! Love Splatoon's music (mind you I love everything about Splatoon). Really cool to see the artists in action.
Pretty neat stuff. It's also a very good thing that they use genuine drums instead of digital ones, it just has that extra bit of power to the overall sound. Though I'd love to see the lyrics for some songs, and whether the two ladies were just singing gibberish or not. Still, nice video, but way too short!
NintyOA really needs to get around to a localized track list. It was only with a 3DS theme that was got "Calamari Inkantation" outta them, after all.
@CB85 They've always done this.
@GrabbinPillz Using real musicians and instruments? No they haven't. They only started actively doing that since Mario Galaxy, with very few exception before that (Smash Bros. Melee being one of those). Most music was simply midi.
Where do you get the idea they've always done it...? Their older systems couldn't even have done it if they wanted to, because of the primitive technology.
Amaaaaaazing, I've been curious about who recorded and wrote the music for a while now. I hope someday we can get a feature on them!
@CB85 Of course I don't mean there older systems. I mean ever since the hardware was available they've done it. My bad I should have specified.
So.....Splatoon concert confirmed?
Would really like to see full versions of each song! XD
Wait, the Callie and Marie's sining voices are actual voices without any special effects at all to make it sound all watery like that? Really? Wow
@TeeJay Recorded vocals with a filter over them. And probably some pitch alteration thrown in as well.
That's pretty cool to see. It's hard to see them sing without laughing a little, though!
