We rather like the Did You Know Gaming channel here on Nintendo Life, as it neatly summarises familiar and sometimes fresh trivia on iconic games. Nintendo titles get plenty of coverage, and next up is The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
Drawing on sources recent and otherwise, including an Iwata Asks for The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, it covers abandoned development ideas, the rapid turnaround of the project and the various references and nods that can be found in the game.
Check it out below and let us know what you think.

While this is a very good game, I just can't find the interest to finish this game. I think Majora's Mask works better with a top down view like the recent ALBW. There's such a big place to explore with so little time, a top down view makes travelling quicker and easier.
@Nintendian @Miss_Dark Wow, I didn't know others where having this problem. I got the 3D remake and I can tell it's one of the best Zeldas, but I have no interest in finishing it...
The anju and kafei sidequest is soo good, one of my favourite sidequests in video games ever. Majoras mask/3D is my second fave zelda game after twilight princess
Great content. Maybe I'm pampered by Norm's channel, but I do wish "Did You Know Gaming" had a better approach towards giving the information. It just feels like it's handed on a platter rather than it being a story.
I love these videos and majoras mask 3d was amazing. I couldn't finish it on the n64 but loved the remake on the 3ds. Once I started it. I couldn't put I down.
@Nintendian really? That's so strange. See I can't come to finish ALBW because I feel like the game had so much to explore and looked great in the 3d mode where your on the wall. But then they put the top down view upon it. It drives me crazy.
I've still not gotten around to playing this Zelda, the only home console one I've missed. Since I don't have a 3ds I was a little gutted the remake was on that tbh.....guess I'll have to vc it eventually.....
Well, that's awesome. Majoras Mask is my favourite Zelda game, yet I have never finished it. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem.
verry nice game,i like the doomy atmosphere but...well...never finished it:).
Has anybody?
@97alexk You should do the Bloody Baron quest from Witcher 3 .>:3
Interesting video! I knew only parts of it through other DYKG videos.
Still haven't really played MM much, which kind of bugs me. I want to play and finish it someday, but it still feels really hard and rushed because of the three days. Everytime I tried the game, I didn't know what to do, where to go etc. So I just wandered around aimlessly until termina was destroyed. ^^ Guess I will one day tackle that task with a walkthrough.
I also disliked WW when it was released but then I played the HD remake and I like it... except for the sea. Although you can make jumps it's still annoying. But I almost finished the game, only the last dungeon/fight is left, so surely one day I'll finish it.
Btw, since everyone is mentioning theirs, my favourite Zelda would be Skyward Sword. Or OoT, I don't know. It's really hard to compare all those Zelda games. I also enjoyed TP but it wasn't original enough to leave a lasting impression. SS on the other hand is still very present in my mind after years.
@Lilith93 I beat it. Got every last mask and beat the crap out of Majora.
I totally agree with what I'm seeing here - I just cannot bring myself to finish this game. I have tried at least 4 times and I've even gotten more than 75% through, but I can't beat it no matter how much I try. I have some kind of mental block that keeps me from being interested in it for more than a few hours or something haha.
@Superryanworld
thats dedication!good job!i just dont have the patience....
Can't believe all these comments of people not completing it.... I've easily completed it at least 10 times along with most Zeldas I guess that's a good thing about being quite poor growing up we couldn't afford a lot of games so we played the hell out of the ones we had 😀
@Tsuzura I only play nintendo games mostly, so i dont know that quest
I have never finished it either, this game just doesn't hold my interest
Cool.
Interesting, as always!
You've met a wonderful fate, haven't you?
I beat the game all the way, all masks, all hearts and completed the bombers notebook. Loved it, fantastic game. Took a little over 60hours so it was worth every penny.
I never had issues with time running out(u can slow it down u know?), or not knowing what to do.
