It's the movie that everyone is talking about right now, Mad Max: Fury Road, starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult.
Whilst you might not expect any crossover between this post apocalyptic world and the mushroom kingdom all it takes is some choice edits of blue shells, mushrooms and banana skins to the film's official trailer and a whole new movie is born, introducing Mario Kart: Fury Road.
Created by Kristi Tompkins, Erik Sundberg, Ryan Sundberg, Dylan Sundberg, and Andy Zeko - guys, we salute you.
So, what do you think, is this a movie you could get behind?

I would LOVE to have the upcoming "Mad Max" video game on Wii U. "Fury Road" easily made it to my top 10 movies of all time. The lunacy of that trailer is just oh so spot on perfect it's almost ridiculous. What a lovely day for Blue Shells and Mushrooms.
Why isn't the video game coming to Wii U again?
Garbage? lol
Like it had 0.001% Mario Kart. Wasted potential.
Just make a "We don't need another hero" video with MK8 death stares and stunts, and it'll always be better than this.
mk8 nice next-gen NX better!!
@Mega719 1. WiiU isn't powerful enough.
2. Most won't buy on WiiU
@XFsWorld it's a rhetorical question
Just came back from the cinema. This. Was. Gold. I'm still laughing.
Could've used more MK. But that Flaming Bowser Brand about halfway through was pretty sweet.
There's some neat stuff, like the lightning part... but yeah, overal it felt a bit forced for me.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE.
So I just saw the trailer. It was kinda okay. I really liked the idea of it all but without the bowser and more or less the "Smithy Gang" would make more sense.
MadMax from my understanding should be taking place after the events of MadMax 2:Road Warrior. However I am to understand it will be the unofficial MM4????
As long as it is not an remake, I would be happy. However the film maker "George Miller" has proven not to learn lessons from Indiana Jones: The Crystal Skull. I mean that is not an bad movie but Indian with Aliens vs the idea of the Cup-of-life film is kinda lame.
You know once upon an time, Nintendo was this great thing and Mario Kart on the SNES was auwsome in it's might. Just thinking about "Simpsons: Virtual Bart" and the road-rash ( is that is what is was called ) stage where Bart vs his bullies in the post-apocalyptic Springfeild.
You know what I really love about the real/original "MadMax"???? The fact that all the players are the same exact characters that pops up somewhere on the globe of Max's world. In this case it is Australia.
MM2 the Police Captain is the leader.
MM2 the mechanic from the first movie is on the good guys side.
MM3 the Helicopter man is divorced with his son living inside of an plane bunker ( ha ha ha ).
MM3 The Captain they were talking about is Thunder's main co-leader.
MM3 The same mechanic from the first and second movie is now on the badguys side and stays with Thunder till the end
MM3 the r-tard( special person ) from the first movie is the "Blaster" character but is with his father AKA "Master".
MM3. Max's wife is reincarnated in the female leader of "the ones who left".
MM2 While the bikers are vicious against others; who are not of their own kind they are also soft towards each other.
Personally I am not amazed by the idea of MM:Mario Kart because the idea itself is an great one. "Mario in an post apcolyptic Mushroom Kingdom and everybody is displaced". HA HA HA HA. Wouldn't that be funny. That is the main idea now isn't it.
They should actually re-do this entire trailer using the Smithy-Gang instead of Bowser. Bowser is okay and all but he is not really that big of threat when it comes to violence anymore. Bowser Story is more or less MadMax2:Road Warrior.
Warios Story is more or less the original MadMax. Wario Story retold is MM3.
@RegalSin wow man, I wonder if you might be over thinking it...
Looks better than the actual film
Too much Mad Max, not enough Mario Kart for this to work well. Cutting down the original trailer would have helped.
Is really everyone talking about this movie? I haven't heard anything about it except that Mel Gibson isn't the main star. I've heard more discussions about the upcoming Deadpool movie and Dargonball: Resurrection of F than Mad Max by a long shot.
Mad Max Fury Road is amazing. Everyone should go see it. It was the best movie of the year so far.
That was great! Really subtle with the additions too.
I saw Avengers 2 last week. I wish I went to MM instead.
@Kaze_Memaryu Well I don't know where you've been
@RegalSin The joke
You
This trailer's ok but I agree with everyone else here, there's not nearly enough Mario Kart in it.
Just saw Mad Max: Fury Road last night. I highly recommend it. one of the greatest action movies of all time. To be honest I thought the Mad Max franchise was pretty lame and weird. Then I saw Fury Road and I completely loved it. Now I want to watch the original trilogy.
Kind of hoped for more Mario Kart in it. All the same, it's not bad. Loved the Mario Kart 64 voice clips and the blue shell at the beginning.
@RegalSin Having seen a few of your long-winded comments, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you like to hear yourself speak.
@TheKingOfTown Germany, if that's any indication...
Witness me! What a lovely day to die historic on the Rainbow Road!
Fury Road was great, apart from the forced, fake Aussie accents!
The Trailer didn't really have enough Mario Kart in it for me, but what was in it was well done.
@MC808 I think in this case it would be "see yourself speak" 😉
Twisted Metal?
I would also like to chime in on how absolutely amazing Mad Max: Fury Road is. So far, it is the best film of the year. It also can stand on it's own apart from the other Mad Max films, but it still has everything that made the original films so enjoyable and unique. The only other film that may trump it this year may be SPECTRE (the new James Bond film with Christoph Waltz as the villain).
I think it might even be better than Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (the best of the original trilogy).
@FantasiaWHT Twisted Metal is what you get when you stick Mario Kart, Mad Max, gasoline, and about 5 gallons of LSD into a blender, then proceed to light it on fire . . . for better or for worse.
@RegalSin this is Mad Max 4... Man do you write novels.
@B3ND3R Well that is part of my ambitions " //In this world//, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God hovering above"
@MC808 I do admit the idea of holding my leg up at the table or chair itself, exposing my natural radiance while speaking on an stage/cliff does sounds quite enjoyable. Especially if their is an audience for my long abbreviated over exaggerated speeches and or essay stylistic mumbo gumbo.
@antdickens I just wish they would have made an normal MM movie and not this joke. I mean making things extreme is one thing but MadMax had plently of logic and is the original reason why the first film sold. The biker gangs ( ha ha ha ) was an instant hit but just seeing that skull carved into the canyon mountain side just made this film unwatchable ( unless you could make logic sense of that skull in the canyon that is sticking out of nowhere. )
@Nik-Davies I will admit this was an Mario film or Mario game it would be soooo awesome if this was the sequel the "Mario Movie" from back then. As that feeling ripples through my body as I typed that. Makes me think about the ending where "Daisy" says "Koopa is back" and she is super armed like some sorta rebel in the orient.
@Kaze_Memaryu People live and hope. Dragon Ball...........I just wish they would stop trying to do lunacy to that series and just continue it from the Buu hero already.
@Dazran303 Haha yeah, good point, sir. On the outside, I suspect my initial assertion is accurate.
@Dazran303 lol
