For those of you still regularly battling online in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, or still firing up Pokemon X and Y for some matches, you'll have an update to complete before you get get on with the serious business of trading and fighting pocket monsters.
Both games have patches of around 250-270 blocks - so they're rather small - and apparently fix bugs in addition to tidying up some in-game text. We'd bet quite a few bucks that they also lock out some exploits or hacks, as is often the way with these sorts of updates; you won't be able to access online features until the updates have been completed.

Are you still playing ORAS and X & Y regularly? Let us know.

Yes I am still playing these badbois. And I thought this update was going to be something good like giving us Hoopa... but it's just to fix damn bugs.
I intend to go back to it but I'm so deep into Xeno @ the mo and just about to update MK8 so Alpha Saphire and loads of other games are on hold for now
I soldiered through Y when it came out, but didn't find it particularly compelling. I enjoyed Ruby more, but I think I only made it up to the 3rd gym. Go figure. Such a big backlog atm - I really must give it another shot... after MH4U and Xenoblade
I rarely play Y anymore due to the lack of challenge, and I skipped OR/AS entirely, so this really doesn't affect me at all.
I lost both my pokemon X and AS! I quite literally cannot find the both of them and they have my favored shinies in them! Woe is me...
@hybridseed I finished Xeno3D last week on 56 hours with full map completion, all quests completed and all characters lvl99. Shouldn't take you too much longer to get back to AS.
Just finished a Nuzlocke challenge on Alpha Sapphire
I've been playing Alpha Sapphire 'regularly' since November and only recently got the eighth badge.
The woes of a busy collegiate student.
I'm currently trying to get my starter Blaziken to have all the contest ribbons in AS. Just the clever contests left to go.
Huh, thought they completely abandoned XY since they refuse to update it with ORAS content. Are they in financial trouble and need to resort to making a game in the same generation as their newest games obsolete in order to force fans to move to the new one for all the new content? And before anyone says that it's been done before, what year are we in? What console generation are we in? What console are these games on now? This kind of crap was acceptable back then because it couldn't be helped;there were hardware limitations and Nintendo's online services were still in its larval stages. Nowadays though...No. Horrible business practice. Unfortunately they'll never fix their ways, because people will always buy their game no matter what kind of crap they pull. Unfortunately I fall into that group...
I enjoyed playing through Y, and bought Ruby because it was 50% off when I bought Smash but haven't played it. Not being able to have an Arcanine in Y was a huge downer for me and has kept me from going back to it.
Even though I bought Alpha Sapphire and have played it a little bit, I just wasn't excited about this remake. I either wanted the originals remade or a completely new experience. Preferably the latter.
I reeeally enjoyed Pokémon X and Y, and I played it all the way until ORAS came out. I also liked ORAS, however, after a week I beat the game and never really played it again.
I completed these games, and haven't played them since. I don't know why, but I just don't have as much fun with Pokemon games nowadays
Put time in to get the platinum base award but haven't played it since. Do mean to go back to it to train a Snorlax army.
STILL NO DAMN C-STICK SUPPORT? THEN WHAT'S THE FREAKING POINT? >:[
And for the record, I did test it to see for myself...not just assuming here.
Eh, Xenoblade and Monster Hunter are keeping me busy.
@AVahne
Same here. I bought 3ds for Pokemon. And first only for Pokemon. About 6-8 months later from its premiere i bought Fire Emblem: Awakening. I bought Kid Icarus: Uprising last year when it got discount. I enjoy all them very much.
And to the rest of topic. I play only tournaments when you can get some Pokemon with hidden abilities to not miss them. If there where no this pokemon giveaways for tournaments i probably wont turn any pokemon games on about one week after i finished them.
(Finished only main story and delta episode in omega/alpha). Maybe pokemon are dumb. If you say so try your chances in online tournaments. Its not so easy as you thought.
@AVahne Feel free to name another company that will update an old game with a NEW game's features or additions to you know lesson the sales of a new game?
literately that would be the reason their not doing it, they want you to buy the new game, and I would too. Why would I put the new megas randomly in the old game? Just doesn't make much seance to me. Never mind the fact that all the new tournaments require you to have x1 copy of the latest 'mon game any way.
