Mario Party 10 is the next big-name retail arrival on Wii U, landing in North America and Europe on 20th March. That 10 in the title should tip you off that this franchise has been consistently popular, and Nintendo's marketing has been actively pitching this - unsurprisingly - to families. Could it be a sleeper hit to shift some extra Wii U units? Possibly, we like to be optimistic.
In any case, Nintendo's released a couple of fresh commercials to promote the party title, focusing once again on amiibo and the Bowser gameplay through the GamePad. The amiibo advert is fairly standard, though the Bowser trailer does introduce a rather playful Dad and some living room shenanigans that bring some Mario Kart 8 adverts to mind.
Check them out below; are you planning to pick up Mario Party 10?

Cringed so hard at the second commercial..
I wish Bowser would pull off my roof for my party, cause my birthday is on the 17th : ( And i'd even give him a piece of the cak......NO, THE ENTIRE CAKE!!!
Mario Party with the Car. Nope. I won' even consider this game anymore.
@ikki5 Of course you meant Mario Party rather than Mario Kart but I thought of a genius idea as a result. What if you could choose the car in Mario Party 10 to be the GLA that's playable in Mario Kart 8!
@Grumblevolcano
I have the genius title for your genius idea: Mario Karty 10
@Grumblevolcano
ug, this has been a bad week for me doing that. lol, First it was Dk return to dreamland, now this. lol
Somehow this game killed all interest I had for it with the announcment of "No classic mode" ....
I really don't know if I'm gonna get this game eventually ... The whole cart-mechanic and 4 against 1 gameplay instead of 4 player free for all is just not my cup of tea...
The commercials should the the people playing raging and than not talking to each other anymore.
The way the dad says "Oh yea" makes me feel uncomfortable.
@SheldonRandoms Haha! That would be awesome! And Happy Birthday!
@Flanktwo Luckily some of us had the foresight to import Rosetta/Rosalina.
As for Mario Party, I skipped 9 and I will skip this to. Stupid party car ruined the game...
Still though, I hope the release a Waluigi and Daisy Amiibo for this game in future waves...
I still have doubts that Amiibo Party is even functional. Mario Party games are decided completely randomly, with the only input the player ever puts in is "A" to advance to the next turn. So yeah, I see how they can fake it, but they'll just be dressed-up normal CPUs. Just like the "human" player is.
In case you couldn't tell, I really, REALLY don't like Mario Party.
@StarDust4Ever or live in Australia and was able to pre-order at a shop that had stock the day they started pre-orders...
We live in an era where amiibo functionality is more important than having online functionality in a multiplayer game.
I would be buying this if i have friends!
Doesn't mention the 'find amiibo stock' meta-game
LOL nice one.
I happened to see this commercial this morning!
I like how they got the purple wolf Power Ranger from Jungle Fury to play the dad in the first video. They should have edited his transformation into the video.

@sinalefa - Funny you should mention the title, I was already looking at it thinking, isn't "Mario Party 10" kinda lame? Couldn't they call it "Mario Party amiibo" (though "Mario amiibo Party" sounds better actually) or at least gone w/ "Mario Party X", everybody loves Roman numerals? Though I do prefer it over "Mario Party U", but justbarely. "Mario Party eXtreme" maybe, cause, ya know, the X is 10 (how do you type a Valley girl accent?)? Oh well, I can think of a few dozen names better than MP10 but I think "MaP" will still be my favorite.
@sinalefa Would it be bad if I said I also had that idea once as well? Perhaps as a Mario Kart/Mario Party crossover game, where you could play a couple of rounds of both to go to your final score, with elements of one game impacting the other!
@GloverMist Last time Mario Party mixed with anything it was almost universally hated. * CoughSmashUcough *
@DiscoGentleman Yeah, sitting on a couch with friends would be the optimal way to play, but frankly, none of my friends live anywhere close to me. It would be nice to have an online mode that you can set up private rooms to play with friends over the internet, I'd buy it then. I actually know a ton of people who aren't buying it because there isn't an online mode to play with distant friends.
@DiscoGentleman Its 2015 there is not excuse as to why this game should not be online. The argument is quite ridiculous, it doesn't force you to play online its purely an option, and one that Nintendo should embrace, sure you can keep your local multiplayer even with online but in this day in age where we have to wonder if a Nintendo game will have online is really pathetic.
Bowser party all the time at my house. I am so ready to order a couple of pizzas and ruin friendships.
I do wish they would at least add the original method of playing! Online I can live without but moving around in that car makes it boring!! And amiibo mode! Well the less said about that the better! People won't pay in excess of £15 to £50 (looking at you Rosalina) to extend a £35 game! You gotta be kidding me
@BLPs Just because you hate to lose doesn't mean online games are not fun.
It is a shame there is no classic mode. Being a fan from all the way back from the original, (I have the stigmata scars to prove it) classic mode is the reason the game is fun.
Being ushered around in a car with no choices or interesting maps really sucks the life out of Mario Party. This would have been a guaranteed purchase for me.
I really don't care about online generally, and I don't let my kids play anything online except LBP3 and Minecraft, but this is the type of game where it would work. They have cousins close in age to them who are 5 hour and 15 hour drives away and games like this and Nintendo Land would be great for them to play w/ their cousins. And they can't blame lag. And they got Sports Club to work, so the infrastructure is already in place.
@SheldonRandoms Will it be galaxy sized?
Meh,
Is it me or is that announcer guy sounds kind of annoying.
So only nunchuck thingy is compatible?
@ikki5 Yup, that's exactly where it lost me, too.
@Omarpixel9 They're both awful.
