Here at Nintendo Life we love it when our favourite video game music gets a quality video tribute with costumes, location, cinematography and a musical arrangement to match. Recently we covered Taylor Davis' amazing work and here is someone very much on a similar level of quality. Vocalist Jillian Aversa has unveiled her latest musical tribute to one of gaming's most beloved franchises: The Legend of Zelda.
Both Ocarina of Time's "Zelda's Lullaby" and Skyward Sword's "Ballad of the Goddess" are featured, with a stunning vocal performance in Hylian and a sweeping orchestral arrangement in collaboration with her husband, Andrew Aversa - both of whom share a deep appreciation for the iconic Nintendo franchise.
Here's what Jillian had to say on this video:
Ocarina of Time is my favorite game of all time, I've always been fond of 'Zelda's Lullaby' and love that the Skyward Sword main theme (a.k.a. 'Ballad of the Goddess') is actually 'Zelda's Lullaby' in reverse, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to play with the two pieces! There isn't a real Hylian language of course, but I did my best to make the lyrics sound authentic based on all the existing Zelda lore out there.
The arrangement was created for the Video Games Live symphonic concert series where it is performed at stops around the globe. Recorded with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, it can be heard on the recently released Video Games Live: Level 4 album, which is currently available on iTunes.
Take a look at the video and let us know if you have been enchanted by Jillian's ethereal voice.

Saw this yesterday and loved it.
Nice! Also same name as my daughter's but different spelling. More videos please!
@Grimlock_King Wow. A+ commentary, you reeeeeally added this article.
@Grimlock_King lol.
@Grimlock_King Because that's the only important aspect of a person.
A beautiful rendition! She does have a lovely voice!
BTW: At the end of this video she links to a video she made based on the Forest Temple from OoT. It is really cool! I think the video depicts the four poe sisters and how they came to be trapped in the temple. And it reminds me of what it felt like to be lost in that temple for what felt like ages.
That's the reason I'm afraid of a live action Zelda series on Netflix... this is just... rediculously cheesy...
She's definitely easy on the ears. That's all I got.....
Pelase we don't need any more insulting comments about her physical appearance.
Nice one, @Grimlock_King.
"Paul looks now like someone put sunglasses on a stick of deodorant" said once Martin Short talking about Paul Shaffer, and Paul laughed about it.
A good joke is always a good joke. BTW, she's a great performer.
Now I wanna see Elton John dressed like Tingle and singing "Honky Cat" in a forest.
That was really awesome! Kudos to her. Or them.
There, most of the posts relating to the issue have been deleted.
Please keep in mind, we aren't supposed to just delete every non positive comment we find around. So let's try to ignore them in the future if they're not that bad, ok?
Wow, what an amazing voice!
Sent shivers down my spine! Amazing job!
@ElFlorro This is a fan production. I hope they didn't spend hundreds on costumes and sets for their sakes.
This is why half-baked Zelda soundtracks are unacceptable; there are plenty of quite talented fans who would jump at the chance to get their renditions in the game. I mean, really, with all of these resources available Zelda U's soundtrack has no excuse to be anything less than excellent.
I got goosebumps when she floated to those high A-naturals! What a voice!
Beautiful voice!
I like the lyrics.
@MorphMarron Is your avatar a Yu-Gi-Oh! Card? It looks oddly familiar..
@kyuubikid213 yup! It's the Outstanding Dog Marron.
Lovely! <3
