Elliot Quest

Several of you have already played Elliot Quest, the new side scrolling adventure game from Ansimuz Games that takes several design and gameplay cues from the likes of Zelda II and Kid Icarus. We awarded it an 8/10 in our review, citing minor performance issues and frustrating pacing as main issues. Whatever way you cut it, it’s a solid entry to the Wii U’s growing library and stands as an excellent example of what can come out of the Nintendo Web Framework.

In a recent AMA on Reddit, Luis Zuno - the game’s creator - mentioned the possibility of a 3DS port. When one reader asked him about it, he had this to say:

I would love that. But first I need to consult it with Playeveryware if it would doable and worthy.

So, it appears that there are plans to explore a release on Nintendo’s handheld, though the outcome is still up in the air. The HTML5 based engine this was developed in would make it difficult to port to 3DS, but not impossible. It will really depend on whether or not PlayEveryWare - the game’s publisher - deems it profitable.
