Limited stock has been a serious problem for Nintendo in recent times. With boss Satoru Iwata yesterday revealing the New Nintendo 3DS hardware was held back from an earlier release in both North America and Europe for this exact reason, this only added to the ongoing troubles fans have had acquiring the popular amiibo figurines since they landed on store shelves late last year.
The production issues today continue with Nintendo Australia notifying its loyal Club Nintendo members via email that the Super Smash Bros. premium double disc soundtrack has had a delay in production and will now not be dispatched until April 2015.
Dear Club Nintendo Member,
Thank you for registering Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as part of the Super Smash Bros. Club Nintendo Promotion.
Due to a delay in the production of the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS & Wii U: Premium Sound Selection double CD set, this item will not be dispatched to you as originally planned.
Originally planned for dispatch from the first quarter of 2015, the new dispatch timing for the double CD set is planned for April 2015.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay.
Sincerely,
Nintendo Australia
Whether this is related to a wider problem or not, the delay of this anticipated soundtrack which was able to be claimed for free by registering both Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS on Club Nintendo comes at an unfortunate time.

I'll say it again:
DAMN!
Looks like the creatures from the Outback are causing trouble.
@shaneoh that avatar fits well
Does this confirm Mewtwo DLC in March?
Just let them download WAV or FLAC files now and get the physical disk later. Problem solved...
Electronics, sure. Toys, ok. But music CDs? How bad does it have to be where you have to delay shipment for an easily mass produced and (what is essentially) semi-obsolete medium?
I'm not even mad or disappointed. Just really, really curious.
Well that's annoying. I just hope there's no more delays.
Considering that it's a gift and they are still guarantee to send it to everyone, I see no problem, plus it's only a delay of a month.
As long as they make sure to inform clearly and mantein the delivery promess, then they can even delay the dispatch in europe if needed of two months or more, I would have no problem with that (however I'm not sure how many fans would take it so lightly XD ).
Seeing as it didn't actually have a exact release date to begin with I sew this as an announcement
I haven't received mine yet (Italy).
I don't even have a Wii U, I only bought the game because I wanted the soundtrack. I ended up giving the game to my sister and her husband as a present.
I am starting to get REALLY angry with Nintendo!
They have done so many things to make me mad in the past year (announced they are closing Club Nintendo, the Amiibo shortage and being unable to find most of them in Australia, having many slow weeks where they released basically nothing to the 3DS, not releasing VC games to the 3DS...).
Now they are delaying the release of this CD. Why am I not surprised? If it wasn't for Majora's Mask recently, I may have given up on Nintendo.
I know it's just a CD and that it's not that big of a deal, but this is yet another disappointment from Nintendo after so many other disappointments in such a short space of time. They begin to add up.
Alot of my friends are going beserk over this, which i cant understand. Its a free gift!! You'd think Bill Trinen took a dump in their mailbox or something.
So… anyone know when the rest of the world is getting the Soundtrack?
@Ichiban Haha! Good one.
The problem is, when I get my disk I will be burning them to my PC and then shutting the disk away for an eternity. I'm not actually going to us it in a stereo system so what's the point? xD
Nintendelay is real.
When are we even getting it in Europe? Supposed to be March right?
I imagine something similar might happen in Europe. Except they probably won't even bother to let us know there's been a problem.
Mine was shipped yesterday. How do I add a screen shot?
I almost forgot about this. Glad i'm not the only one who hasn't gotten any info on the CD yet.
@Baker1000 All i could find was "Dispatching of soundtrack CDs will begin in early 2015. Dispatching of download codes will begin in spring 2015." on Ninty's official promotion site.
@ChessboardMan I got a ship confirmation email the other day. I'm in NA.
I applied for mine in January and I have still not received it. I am in Ireland has anybody else been shipped their copy?
I'm in London, UK and I haven't gotten my soundtrack CD yet!
When was this supposed to be released? I haven't received my CD's in the US yet.
@Achoo I said that this was just one of the things that Nintendo was making me unhappy about. If it was just this CD, I would let it go.
My problem is mostly to do with the way Nintendo treats Australia. Our games are overpriced and sometimes we never even get the games at all (such as Tappingo, which looks like a great game!).
Then some people have been saying that some of the Amiibos are easy to get, including some of the ones I wanted (except for in Australia).
I have also been playing games such as Disney Magical world and Animal Crossing where many Australians have been unable / missed out on content because we don't have any Nintendo Zones here.
I won't list all my reasons (and there are a few more as well), suffice to say I wasn't surprised to hear that other people are getting the soundtracks now - except for us in Australia.
