It's the most important date in any dedicated Pokémon Trainer's calendar. The European National Championships dates and locations have been announced, enabling Trainers in Europe to embark on the road to the 2015 Pokémon World Championships. This year's events provide players with a chance at winning part of a pool of scholarships and prizes worth $2 million, and a spot in the most prestigious Pokémon event of the year: the 12th annual Pokémon World Championships, which is held on 21st - 23rd August in Boston, Massachusetts.
The qualifying events will be held in 40 countries this year, with game section naturally utilising the latest releases - Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The European Video Game and Trading Card Game Combined National Championships events are coming to the following locations:
- German Nationals, Stuttgart: 16-17 May at the Carl Benz Arena
- UK Nationals, Manchester: 30–31 May at EventCity
- Italy Nationals, Assago: 13–14 June at Mediolanum Forum
The Trading Card Game Nationals have also been set in France, the Netherlands, and the Nordics, with many more countries in Europe still yet to be finalised.
“This is a great time for the best TCG and video game players in Europe to engage, battle, and show off their skills with other Trainers in the vibrant competitive circuit from countries all over the globe," said J.C. Smith on behalf of The Pokémon Company International. “It is exciting to see this supportive international community continue to grow."

Will you be attending one of these Pokémon events this year? Have you got what it takes to be the best Pokémon Trainer?

Barring any unforseen game releases eating my time, I'm going to be at the UK ones. Say hi if you see me, people
Enjoyed it last year, didn't do too well (4-4) but hopefully can improve this time. And it's near my hometown again
Trying to rack up some TCG points, this'll be my first year with TCG did VGC last year, didn't go so well, but LOVED it! The breeding, however, has put me off VGC for at least a year. All that time consuming testing too, coupled with uni... shudder
Gotta borrow a deck for finnish nationals.
