Every Zelda fan knows you can never have enough Rupees, and thanks to a glitch discovered in the recent Wii U title Hyrule Warriors, it's now possible to get your hands on as much of that shiny currency as you could possibly want.
At first, it was believed that the glitch was entirely random, but dedicated players have narrowed down the criteria required to make it happen. The glitch works when fighting a giant boss character, with confirmed reports saying that it has been triggered on Gohma, King Dodongo and Argorok. The character you use doesn't matter, and you don't have to be a certain level to activate the glitch. However, your weapon should have Rupee+ applied to it. Your character should also have full stamina fruit badges so that the "weak point" gauge can be reduced effectively.
You can find the full details on how to trigger the glitch here, as well as a video of the process below, but the basic aim is to defeat the boss without using a "weak point" smash.
When the glitch is successfully activated, you'll notice that 9,999,999 Rupees are deposited into your account once the boss falls - that's enough moolah to do a lot of shopping with.
Have you used this glitch in the game? Do you think this is something Nintendo will patch out in a future update? Share your feelings by posting a comment below.

I wonder how quickly you can run out of all those
@Tsurii897 Yes, even this glitch doesn't give enough rupees. Not to mention it could also be patched by this Thursday's (or March 12th for the US) update.
Yep, I'm definitely hitting up this glitch. I have some level 30s and 40s characters that need some training.
@Grumblevolcano then just don't use the patch until you are satisfied
I'm not saying this is a bad thing, I know the benefits of glitches since I'm a speed runner, but I think I will stay away from this. For one, RNJesus is mean to me because I haven't hit it once. And I don't want it to taint my enjoyment of the game.
@rjejr
Just wanted to let you know, I opened this game on Saturday morning and now I am hopelessly addicted to it. It has been a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be.
I love how you can spend a little time with it and still feel like you did something, whether it is getting a piece of heart, skulltula or even earning some levels or materials.
@Tsurii897 who did you use? And what map and square? I use can't pull it off :-/
Welp there goes a reason to buy amiibo.
@DiscoGentleman I don't even own a Wii U. I only know you get ruppees for scanning amiibo, not how much or what chances you have of good prizes
Whelp! Time to start spamming this and using the Training Dojo!
@sinalefa - I'm waiting to go back to it until after the update, which should give me enough time to finish Kirby's Rainbow Curse.
And I must be playing it wrong b/c I had about 1 mil rupees before I lost my save point, think I'm back up to around 500,000 in my new playthru, and I don't think I've ever paid to level up a character. Though I'm by no means a completitonist, once or twice thru the story and the challenge mode. Tried to finish the Adventure maps but they get a bit to much for me. We still more than got our moneys worth though.
Glad you're enjoying it
This is tempting... but maybe I'll wait and see if there's any drawbacks.
Given how slow characters level, this would probably only add enjoyment. Especially since most weapons are locked behind a rank wall (and it HAS to be A...)
I want to try this out! Please post your experiences with this glitch on here guys. What works, what doesnt. I would love to level up my roster without that grind.
I can't seem to get it to work. I know they say it's inconsistent, but I've tried it fifteen times now and still nothing. I doesn't help that all the information on it is vague at best, impossible to understand at worst.
Community:
I need your help. I love Hyrule Warriors and I have a close friend with similar tastes in games that I'm sure will like this game, but he's so off put that it ruined Zelda that he refuses to even try it.
He hasn't played any Dynasty Warriors games so I'm trying to think of another similar game that I can compare it to to help him understand what it it like.
I can't get it to work either. I have tried at least 10 times. Here's what I'm doing:
The glitch doesn't activate for me at all.
@abbyhitter
The main focus it seems is that on top of all that you also you have to kill some mooks with the final hit as well. such as you see with link doing the spin slash at the end.
@leo13 Spartan: Total Warrior?
@leo13
I'd appeal to rational thought rather than comparing to other games, myself.
It can't "ruin" Zelda because it is an spin-off game and the core Zelda games have not been affected in any way except to maybe bring in some other customers through a different genre. There is a fantastic looking new Zelda game coming to Wii U this year, after all.
As far as other games to compare it to, it has a variety of gameplay modes that can feel arcade like in action, but also capture-the-flag style battling where you have strategic choices. It also has the flair of fighting games with rediculous moves and things to unlock which change the feel of gameplay. It has a basic Zelda story to go with it with lots of nice fan service.
I was mostly skeptical about all the enemy fodder and how simple it looked to defeat enemies, but there is so much more to it and, plain and simple, it's fun.
In the end, he still may not like it, but it's frankly childish not to try. Also, ask him to explain the actual process by which the game will ruin the Zelda franchise.
@Tsurii897 thanks. I'll try that method later today.
(Evil laugh) Can't wait to try this out when I get home. I can use the Rupees to better customize my 8 slot skills and lvl up Zant and Ghirahim, two of my least favorite to play as.
I've been able to do it once today on my second try! I'm still trying to do more though since it can take a long time.
99% of my games glitch out sometimes.
unfortunately hyrule warriors is the 1% that never glitched.
Nice thing! Hyrule Warriors is by no means difficult, and unless you're a completionist, there's no reason to require so many rupees, but the grinding in Hyrule Warriors is straight-up annoying when you're dealing with the DLC content, so I appreciate that this exists.
@abbyhitter Two things you're missing:
A couple of things: Firstly, I'm pretty sure it's going to be patched out, so I'm not going to bother with it since it is completely random if it triggers or not even with the proper conditions met. Secondly, Rupees are ridiculously easy to get anyways from just PLAYING THE GAME. So this kind of exploit is really only for people that don't really want to play the game. Lastly, as stated previously, it is completely random if it triggers or not, so it isn't a reliable source of Rupees. You CAN get max Rupees in 2 minutes, but most of the time you're restarting the stage. And this can last for HOURS! Hours I could spend, you know, making progress and having fun instead of trying in vain to get max Rupees. Definitely not worth the hassle if you ask me
I agree with Lukaz2009; this thing doesn't properly work every time and seems random to make effective, especially since level load times are currently like watching frozen molasses drip downward.
you have to kill the boss while the circle is there, not after.
@blackbox64
I agree, as tempting as it is to level up some people i don't care for (wizzaro)
i don't want to taint my experience in this fashion.
I want to try this now.
@luigifan2000 I know that, but it is far too inconsistent to be reliable. And again, Rupees are so easy to get anyways. In a normal play session, I can end up with upwards of 2 million Rupees in pocket by the end of it, if not more because I barely spend Rupees anyways and selling off spare weapons nets you even more Rupees. So this exploit is solely for people that don't really want to to actually take the time and actually play the game.
A game like this will consume hundreds of hours of your time, and you don't really need to be that insanely high of a level to complete the later stages with A ranks if you know what you're doing.
I thought you needed to be insanely high leveled to beat some stages with A ranks, so I started grinding Rupees on one of the Reward Map stages, and the game became boring once I started boiling it down to numbers. So I stopped farming for Rupees. And guess what? I've never farmed again because Rupees are so easy to get anyways, and level-ups come around fairly frequently anyways. So why bother farming for Rupees when the game becomes boring to you?
I've been trying it for ages. It doesn't work.
I've been doing this to Gohmas. Worked four times, seems to work pretty randomly. Well, it's a clitch...
I did this on Gohmas with Spinner and it worked five times yesterday but not a a single time this morning. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. The circle is there, boss has little HP, enemies are in the same line and I use the special move and have fewer than 100 rupees.
@DiscoGentleman I've been doing it exactly as Tsurii897 says, with under 100 rupees, but it still doesn't work.
Funny thing is, I did it five times yesterday and only once today (and even spend more time today while doing it). I didn't want to waste all of my time so I played some other missions too, not just clitch questing.
